7th Core will be running a weekly practice schedule on Wednesdays at 9p.m. Central time. If any other fleets want to join us please PM. This will be a good time to get the fleets together and train some new members against higher level opponents. This isn't for bragging rights and should be thought of as nothing more than a fun and enjoyable experience.

I'll tell 182 tonight, I'm just now starting the second semester of summer college though - so I probably won't be alive several days out of the week (seriously, up at 6 am - down at 11 :()

I'd just to recommend fleets to sign up for our tournament on July 24th at 2pm PST. Contact @balanceofterror for more information.

Are you going to have some kind of teaming pool set up for the free agents/loose cannons, or is it BYOF (Bring Your Own Fleet)?

Well for the most part it would be good to bring your own fleet, however if there is a fleet that is short a player or two then we can try to help that team out as we may have a few loose players as well. What really should happen is that each fleet should bring a group of 5 players to play and use the time to learn a little bit about tactics and refine there abilities. This practice schedule is for the 7th Core to get its group together to refine its skills and to teach new members of the group against a high level of competition. I think that other fleets would enjoy the same opportunity because they can use it learn and teach so much more than against pug teams.

The tactics are something that u can't really see when facing a pug. We design those to battle against other premades and if u expect to win or make it respectable u need to use those tactics.

At current the 7th Core will have 2 full teams unless something happens between now and Wednesday.

We may want to setup another day that we can open the doors abit to a few players that want to learn to come in and join us for a few matchs to again learn how premades work and how much enjoyment can be found in the PVP environment.

That sounds like a different event than the Fleet vs. Fleet practice you're describing above, more like a PvP Battle Clinic or something. I've favored that idea for a long time, for what it's worth, but I do think it's a separate thing to have good fleets practicing against each other, compared to having inexperienced players learn about PvP.

Thx to 182 for playing a few games with us for awhile. It was a good learning experience for some for our guys as well as for everyone in the fleet.

Is this PvP school where your helping people figure things out or is this just five man groups having fun duking it out.

(by PvP school I'm referring to something like. . .sending 10 people into a a cracked plannet and then having people team up and practice working together, like an escort working on coordination with a healer/tank against a test dummy sort of thing.)

little bit of both, you can only learn so much from "tests" before you dive into the water. Yesterday was largely seeing how well 7th core's recruits could handle the pressure of combat.

Naturally you need some of both, being able to remove the pressure of competitive PvP in order to take a breath and look at how things work though is useful, and something that I've never had the opportunity to do. The best i can do is compare how a particular build works in PvE. . .not exactly much of an equivalent.

7th Core actually went into intramurals after the series of matches against the 182/7C hybrid team, and learned/experienced quite a bit more. Good times were had by all (one guy was literally whooping and cheering on TS after the last two matches), and I think everybody ended up a better player for it.
