Ya i was quite impressed with my first Diplomacy mission. I also was quite pleased that the mission was carried out in the conference room of my ship (just like i mentioned once as being a good idea for that room's functionality :D ). Now once they fix it so you walk to the conference room, instead of beaming in there, it will be awesome.

I'll be happy when we can make it so you don't "Beam off your bridge" when you exit the bridge... that has always been silly.

Seriously, kudos. I experienced Dabo and First Contacts - great way to start off the testing. :)

They might be dialogue trees but they're involving. :D

I totally agree. It made a refreshing change to spend an hour in STO and have things to do that didn't involve combat :D

Captain, you just beamed two feet into your chair!

    I know, it's because I'm awesome!

The First Contact may look superficially to some folks like the mining planet deal.

What you have to keep in mind is that this has branching outcomes, failure scenarios, the need to go back and forth between NPCs and consoles logically to find new dialogue options and multiple endings or outcomes.

    Very nice, all in all.

I'd like some ground holo-emitters and maybe some optional espionage missions for Drake that USE the Holo-emitters. (People have been asking for uses for cosmetic disguises in other games for years.)

I just finished the mission "Quarantine", and I got to say, there had better be more missions like that on the way.

I don't care if this is a spoiler, but having to go from Memory Alpha, to Deep Space Nine, and back just to give O'Brien a jumja stick, was annoying. :p

im enjoying season 2 so far

the non combat missions are cool and you can get them wrong and fail them which is great, and they are fairly complex compared to what we have had before.

dabo is nice. hope they add more rewards and things to buy

    holo emitters are genius.

first contact is good. only really done 1 but i hope, if there are not already there, they can add some first contact missions onto planets and other diplomatic missions

i did 'assimilated' which is a good mission once you work out how to tackle it but when you first play it, its a zergfest and a bit of a nightmare and i got very frustrated playing it even on easy, i have died more times in that mission that i have in the rest of the game. i think it needs to be toned down for more casual gamers but it is doable once you know how and what to do.

they need to fix the dialogue so people call you admiral or rear admiral and not rear admiral, lower half which just sound so silly when you playing

but in general so far so good

Just had a thought, will the Beytan V Miner and Starbase 114 Accident patrol missions retroactively offer diplomatic XP?

    Awesome job on Diplomacy Missions!

All the Vulcan and Romulan lore on Ancestral Sin is great! And very cool that these are the first mission in game that we can actually FAIL! :p

And kudos on Dabo as well! I had a lot of fun winning latinum! You do, however, need to include the Dabo Wheel sounds from DS9. Maybe that's coming along with Holo Leeta?

the first contact missions are given by the admiral via sub space

the others you have to go to the locations, vulcan, bajor, memory alpha. i think one or two other places that i have not found yet

I got it first try. That's right I'm that good. Just ignore the fact, I gave gave the Romulans an excuse to attack Vulcan 4 times on another mission. :p

There is 5 missions on Memory Alpha, one mission on Starbase 37 (Sierra System of Alpha Centauri Sector), one mission on Vulcan, and one on Bajor.

I havent got a chance to log in yet. How many did you do? How different is one mission from the next? My main concern with this system is how repetitive it will be. I really hope it isnt the same handful of "stories" over and over again.

First contact missions are all the same. Talk to the alien members to learn about their culture, then answer some Star Trek questions and questions about their culture. The most I have got in the two first contact missions that I have done is 20 Diplomacy XP each. Diplomacy missions are just running around to various people, but you get to choose the final response. Do you warn the Ferengi to not do his scheme again or do you rat him out to the person in charge of the base. One of the Ferengi on Memory Alpha seems to be Rom's clone.

can devs look at putting diplomacy points in the inventory under assets tab(i think) so we can view them at the same time we look at badges.

Is it reallty possible to loose the mission? If so are there negative consequences?

You can lose the mission and not get rewards but you can just take it again

which is good because most people like to complete the mission but its also bad as there really are no consequences, unless you want to role play and just not take the mission again
