Quick ques r.e. the STO client

As my current pc is on death's door (mobo is failing) I am treating myself to a new system. My question is am I able to copy paste the STO client straight over from one hdd to another.

I found with the CoX client if I tried to install/download first then copy over the client would run a-ok is the same true in this instance? Also just in case I am currently on good ol' xp but will most likely go to 7 64 bit or xp 64 bit will this be a major issue as obviously current client is on a 32 bit o/s.

Thanks for any replies peoples :D

I have my OS is on a seperate partition to STO. I recently formated OS partition to reinstall OS. STO worked fine without having to reinstall game so pasting should work fine.

    Hope this answers your question.

This is not recommend since the installer does set some reg keys that you won't have otherwise. The better way to do this is to run the installer on the new machine and then copy over the .hogg files.

Could I possibly install off the disk then copy my old folder (which included tribble) over the fresh install maybe?

Also thank you for the reply Coderanger you've been extra busy lately so the input is greatly appreciated
