With how scatter volley works, are you joking? Fedball=deadball with scatter volley.
But if you want to break up the ball, you have to actually think and use some strategy. Baiting can work, fighting and fleeing can get some to chase, and tractor beam repulsors can be used to very good effect separating someone from the ball with practice.
Your joking, all those nice tightly balled targets for my CSV.
But really I sometimes uncloak first straff a target and then evasive and EPtE out usually will get a
few to try and follow which gives the rest of the team time to take advantage of the confusion.
Scatter is a nice fix, as everyone is pointing out too you.
Here is another.
Pick the healer in the group, shock them and then use Tractor Repulsers + Evasive and a battary if you have one up. When their healer 30k away... good times.
How would L2P have anything to do with an existing problem?
It's not like we are herding them into balls.
Maybe some 1 on 1 PvP would be a better solution.
And don't tell me an Escort can't take out a Cruiser, I've been popping Galaxy x's all day.
1. as has been pointed out, there is no problem. CSV is very effective with 5 targets all cuddled up. (which means YOU adjust and use the counter, you dont plead for someone else to make it easier for you by nerfing something that really is not nerfable -its an independant action on the part of the players)
Which translates to L2P. (really dont like sounding so condescending, but....)
2. you WANT them in the ball for alpha.
3. 1v1 is totally irrelevant to this thread (and you would lose to any sci ship)
4. FYI, the galaxy X is a TIER 4 galaxy with the added lance and cloak. It is NOT an accomplishment to kill. At all.
-GoD- regularly uses CSV to defeat fedballs. I once spawned into a new 5v5 facing -GoD- and all I saw were 5 explosions as my team was vaporized immediately. My fedballing fed fleet is having a heck of a time executing a counter, though we have some ideas.
the game is a heavy support, team and ranged game. The 'ball' is just the result of this. Besides from my experience Klingons ball FAR more than feds, as they hang round within 2-3k of each other so they get a massive aplha off. Its not a bad thing, its just how the game is.
You just dont normaly see grouping being so effective in other games because there (normally) is melee, not all ranged.
I kinda feel the real problem with the post is the lack of irony tags in vBulletin.
Kinda like I wanted to write a thread "FvF is way unfiar"..
Please, oh please, let this be it. We've been pounding it into their heads for months that sticking tightly together and working as a team is the only thing that will give them a chance and now it turns out that we should have kept our mouths closed, lol. It's like Klinks. Some are impossible to beat but certainly not all.

Hehe. I recently wrote in zone chat in a cap & hold: "Seems people are using their RSP a little too early". Someone else said. "Pssst".
Since it was FvF I reminded him that your enemy today might be your ally tomorrow. But of course, he's somewhat right - I am more a casual PvP then a "serious" one (PuGging only, no premades, no PvP Fleet), and I wouldn't want it to become too difficult, right?
Nah, I guess I can live with it getting harder. If all else fails, I can still play Elite PvE.
Can we please get this nerfed so that we don't always face tightly balled up groups of ships?
Most PvP is like this lately, you have to try to drag one of the ships out to fight.
Have the warp fields overload or something.
Yeah cause in combat situations, where the enemy is invisible and could be anywhere, it is best to run off 1 at a time and get killed 5v1 each. Also I remember a lot of ST episodes where the fleet decided to just split up for no tactical reason whatsoever and then all the people died.
Actually CSV III is damage bugged at the moment and does more damage than CRF III, so using this to beat fedball is just exploiting and this tactic is only going to work untill they fix it.
i highly doubt using the original weak damage version of these skills is going to do much against a good fed ball.
The problem is fed balls mostly made up off cruisers that constantly spam heals on whoever is being focused on, coupled with RSP being too good for a level 2 slot skill, (wait for the RSP nerf). bringing down a well organized fed ball that knows how and when to heal, can be very tough indeed.
Part of the problem is alot of klingon players dont know when to leave to fight. Most of them especially zerging bops, wont even leave a fight and if they do they leave it to late. Its no good deciding to escape on 30% hull integrity, one or two good hits and your toast. Also even if you do make it out on extremely low hull its going to take you longer to heal up and thus you will be out of the fight longer and not contributing valuable damage for your team.
If your being focused fired on without rsp and you have less 70% hull integrity is time to leave the fight. divert power to engines and hit evasive and get out. the quicker you get out with more hull integrity the faster you can get back in, and when you do feds will be firing on someone else leaving you to cause havoc.
hate it when you have to constantly switch targets 6 times because of RSP and spam heals? well play them at there own game and make them constantly switch targets by going in and out of their range.
i run in a raptor and always come top for damage and high for healing just from keeping myself alive.
its quite easy to get 30+ kills 0 deaths every cap n hold map for a skilled klingon player.
Just use charged particle burst in the fedball, that makes them all turn green light..and next charged particle burst will drop all their shields i tested it today, works perfect
I can pretty much guarantee a kill of any ship, Sci included if I can keep their buddies off my rear.
It's the attack one and get pounced by the others that sucks.
As is I've been holding back and pouncing on the backstabbers as they try to attack ships already engaged.
Will investigate CSV!
What exactly do the letters QQ mean? I know it means to complain, but am not into geekspeak.
Sadly, most posts assume I'm referring to fights from the Klingon side and while I do have a Klingon alt, I am referring to PvP FvF. I fly an an Escort
Also, what's with Heal escorts? My Eng slots are full of EPW as an Escort is supposed to be all about damage, but have encountered many heal escorts?
QQ is for crying, because it's a pair of eyes with tears. If you are on the Fed side, especially as an Escort, then the Fed Ball is what you need. Holding back and pouncing is all related to focus fire and harassing your opponent. And as for being all about damage, how much damage are you dealing when you are dead?

Either that or learn 2 play!

Fedballs are perfectly fine, as a matter of fact it's canon.

Wwaahhhbulance to Isle Thiaylie for a QQ clean up.....

it originally started as a command, QQ would log your character out of a game in battlenet. QQ -> just quit.
I'm prepared for flames if you want to argue something :P

Very nice K'eg... I won't tell any one that it almost always takes you 2 volleys to make em pop like that.
Looking forward to some more vids. lol
And to outheal some cruisers, apparantly... I just got an Engineering Team and a Hazard Emitter and it's mostly for my own survival!
If you dont have at least HE 1, you are TRIBBLE
Which Sci power to sacrifice:
Tractor beam for those running away for HE II,
or
Sci team for those Sensor Jammers for HE I?
