First off i would like to thank all those who have given me a run for my money in pvp. You have given me great enjoyment through your skill and i hope i have done the same for you.

Now on to the point of the post. Folks this is a game and that is all it is. PvP can be intense at times and challenging, but there is no reason for some of you ( you know who you are ) to become just plain nasty to ppl in pvp. I know losing can be not fun and sometimes wants to make you beat your head on the keyboard over things. When you join a pug and get creamed that happens, i don't care how good or bad a player you may be.

There is no reason to scream hackers, noobs, cheaters and so on at the other side, nor is it right to call names about the ppl who may be on your team.
When you join a pug you must understand that not all pvp all the time like you or myself may do. Ppl who do not pvp all the time and make mistakes or try and treat pvp like it is pve are not stupid, idiots or many of the other names i have seen them called.

They have the right to pvp just as much as we do. Who knows they may solo every elite pve match and not die once that could be thier thing. You must also think about the fact that if those ppl were not here we might not have any game to play at all. People don't play this game to ruin your time they play to have fun and if they are having fun good for them.

Agree or not with this just remember we all play to have fun and if you are not having fun what is the point to making others feel bad also.

Pretty much all i have to say. Looking foreward to seeing you in pvp.

/Peace

Yeah it would be nice if more people were civilized in PVP matches, but hey that's what the ignore button is for. Use it and you can create your own world, a paradise.

Yes, the OP hits the nail on the head. The problem is that the larger the game gets, the more whining will happen. People that let this game affect them after the instant of pain from a dying avatar in a video game need to re-evaluate their goals.

Enjoy people. Just be happy you aren't actually risking your life in these games.

I agree with this - I find PvP enjoyable, and often find myself cheering when I get destroyed (especially when I have managed to survive a heavy barrage for a bit).

This is a game, and I play it as such. I look forward to beating... er. meeting you. :D

Indeed. Well said OP I'm sure we have all lost our temper to PVP at some point I myself get very frustrated at times. Lately however I find it more enjoyable and easy to just accept it move on and smile. Getting so angry and hateful is bad for your health :)

I am going to toot my own fleet's horn here....

-TTT- on the fed side (RA pvp) The Tribble Tribunal
-PBP- on the kling side (currently commander lvl PVP) Purified By Pain

We always make a point of saying Good Game ( "gg" ) at the end of a match, win or lose, 15-0, 0-15, or 15-15 (yeah we have seen ties).

-GoD- likes playing against us, not cause we present a challenge really, but because we are cheerful about it and we keep trying to do better and we are not afraid to try again and lose. Even though it can get frustrating. (GRRR)

a couple -182nd- and -GoD- members even enjoy playing WITH us cause we have FUN, win or lose.
(and a few others from other fleets also)

And while we might not quite be up to the top level of PvP like GoD, 182nd, 7th core, 31st, and DoB, we play to have fun and both sides tend to enjoy the fight.

there is no need to get nasty cause you lose.

Win or lose you get credit towards your daily. There's no real issue with losing.

I know MOST of the 182nd and GOD guys like playing with or against TTT, I play with them as an outsider, and they all have good things to say about you guys. They never say "you suck" (not because they are polite but because you guys don't), they always say you guys are quickly learning, and always improving, and from what I've seen you guys are pretty good.

I know of one player who always posts "GG(no offense)" meaning that he had fun, and is not saying GG because he is required too, but because he is sincere about it.

Vlad I love PVPing with you, you are a hoot to fight and fight with, I love watching you scream across Cap'N'Holds to be a road bump, and then watching you annoy the hell out of people when you just won't die.

I have never really had issues in PVP with people, there are a few who take it upon themselves to mock other players, heck I had someone yesterday call me a cheater for using key binds, then call me an unskilled north american when I said anyone can set them up in game. But usually most players will ask questions like "what are you doing that is killing me so fast?" and I appreciate that. I will always help people who ask for it.

Your point, I like it. It holds especially true to the winners too as there is really no sense in calling people out or demeaning them for being less skilled (for whatever reason). Asking questions and making suggestions is one thing but if all you are going to do is inform them that they should clear up some PC memory by deleting the game then maybe you should just hush, lol.

I do strike up conversations with Feds that I thought fought real well from time to time. I like to talk to Enemies that give me a hard time, out of respect. Dont see the point in yelling at other people about the fact that I got creamed tho.

i don't really notice bad players in my team.
actually compared to me ALL of you seem to be some lost pve'er who was overstrained by the menu and missclicked himself into pvp battle.

    really, i don't care !

i like the flashy explosions the STO ships (mostly YOURS!) make.

To the OP - Great post, agree 100%

It's always nice to be civil even if you're tearing your hair out!

Also. for me personally, if someone from the opposition (it happens on occasion) Pm's you to say "well played" in a non patronising way, I think it goes a long way to establishing a good reputation for both player and fleet.

I'm one of those players who is not in a PvP focused fleet, but is often picked up by premades to make up the numbers, and I find playing with/against the likes of 182nd, DoB (and others mentioned above) to be thoroughly enjoyable and good natured.

As the Op inferred - The problem seems to lie mainly in PuGs, unfortunately there is very little one can do about this. Every now and then, one bad apple will spoil a game. If faced with two team members in need, who will get that heal when they need it?

    Correct!

    Total fail.

OP: I agree with you all the way man, and I am one of those people that makes it a point to try and say 'good game' after every match no matter the outcome.

When engaged.....I do not speak...unless its to direct my commrades. Even so.....I rarely speak until the match is finished.

Whether I live or die in PVP makes no nevermind. I believe its how you fought that makes for a great match. For others to complain and degrade just shows they have not yet figured out the true meaning of combat. You win some, you lose some.

Even when battle is bad, it is good.

I'm really not impressed, buddy. And umm...who are you anyway? I've never seen you.

If you get *half* that score again - in a legitimate, non-bugged match - I owe you 50 million credits.

Heck I'll give you 5 million credits if I even *notice* you in PvP. Get over yourself, sweetheart.

I know what you're saying but you have to agree that sometimes the noobs need some tough love.

You'd be surprised how many of them dramatically improve with a good kick in the behind.

Most of them off try to fight of the urge to thank you afterward and end up having more fun.

On top of that if it's the other team (and you're in a Cruiser) it's strategic.

You'll end up tanking the other team while the escorts do their job!
