Ports and Nettest!

Ok so I read to download the Champions Online Nettest tool to determine what ports are being blocked and need to be opened but when I run the tool all I get is this:

contacting nettest server..
Local IP: 92.25.228.209
Ping: 125.8 msec
Port: 80:

And then it just freezes and doesn't go any further it still flashes so it hasn't crashed, so I’ve left it for awhile now still no luck. I've opened port 80 to see if that helps but still no joy. I've also opened ports 7000-7500.

I'm trying to download the STO Demo so I can try the game before committing to buying it and my download speed is very slow, I live in the UK and I have a good internet speed and it’s not peak time. It also keeps freezing download it keeps going down to 0.00KB/s. So am basically wondering does anyone know of ports to open or any other way I could possibly speed up the download, it’s now at 50% but that has taken nearly a day.

Thanks.

    Greetings one and all.

It would seem that i have the same issue that many have had, yet i am not bright enough to figure it out.

I have tried net test, and all of the 7000 ports are closed when i try and run STO at school.

Any suggestiongs? is there a way that i could cercuvent the 7000's through STO or do i need to bust those ports open?

It appears the only solution to this is to ask the Network Administrator of your school to allow STO access... (And you already know what the answer is going to be...)

the game required ports 7000-7500 to be open and unfiltered to work.
Nettest if you are using Vista or Win 7 should be set to run as admin and may need to be set as an exception in your firewal/antivirus programs to work.
    .

It will check some of the critical ports the game uses like 7255 (patching), 7003 (auth server) etc
if it is timeing out then something is blocking the path on those ports to the test server.

It may be firewall, antivirus , router ISP or one of the ISP routing partners.
