That link is missing some information. It cuts out in the middle of the first sentence of the What is Galaxy X? question.

Here's the FAQ for those that can't see it for whatever reason:

    Galaxy X Dreadnought Cruiser FAQ

Thanks for your interest in the most sought after ship in the galaxy! Read on to learn more about the Galaxy-X Dreadnought Cruiser, and how you can obtain it!

What is the Galaxy-X Dreadnought Cruiser?

Commonly referred to simply as the "Galaxy-X", the Galaxy-X Federation Dreadnought Cruiser is a Tier 5 ship, designed after unique Federation vessel seen in the episode All Good Things.

Players will generally refer to this ship as the "Galaxy-X", the "Dreadnought", or the "Federation Dreadnought Cruiser." - these are all the same ship, it just has a lot of cool names people have given it.

How can I obtain the Ship?

The ship can be obtained in two ways:

    * Referring 5 accounts via our Referral Program will earn you the title of Master Recruiter, which will allow you to claim the ship for free in the C-Store.
    * The ship can be purchased in the C-Store.

Where can I find the ship in the C-Store?

Both Master Recruiters and first time purchasers can find the Galaxy-X in the "Ships" section of the C-Store. For first time buyers, you can click "Purchase" to obtain the ship. If you are a Master Recruiter, the button will be labeled "Claim Free Item."

After I've earned or purchased the Galaxy-X, can I unlock it on multiple characters?

Yes, visit the Special Unlocks tab to claim the ship for all eligible characters.

Which characters can use the ship?

Federation characters at level RA5 or greater.

Looks like it could be pretty cool.

    So it has:

    Cloaking Device
    Dual Cannons
    Spinal Lazer

    Any thing else?

Ok, this is good. I don't want to spend $25 for this, but I do hope to one day get three more referrals (I have 2 so far :D).

Interesting. Perhaps players who are not logged into the site can't see it. Make sure you are logged into atari.com with your STO account. I'll take a look. Thanks Mirror, for posting the copied version.

I have a question not covered in the FAQ...

I know the ship is a cruiser, but which Adrmiral Skill will improve it's use?

I would assume Starship Command and Cruiser Captain apply fully. Also that Heavy Cruiser and Exploration Cruiser each apply 25% as towards any other T5 Cruiser.

But which of Assault Cruiser Captain or Star Cruiser Captain apply fully? Or will S2 see the release of a new "Dreadnaught Cruiser Captain" skill? Hmmmm...

Hang on now....... the FAQ says any char of level RA5 or higher can fly this beastie, but the Cryptic store says only a Vice Admiral can fly it. Which is correct?

I'm a RA5 and it works just fine. I would guess the Vice Adm is a typo.

If I purchase this, and only one of my characters is presently at RA5, will the others (Lt. and Lt. Com) be able to pick theirs up for free when they reach the proper rank, or will it be a one-time purchase only for characters that are PRESENTLY at RA5?

I only ask because I would rather buy this once than twice. :)

Dont see much info except apop-up with juts info that its added and reffered to as Galaxy X.

Can You claim one on all Fed chars or just 1/acct as people have written it was on Tribble ??? Then have to pay another 2000 CP for another char os possibly even not be able to hold mkore than 1/acct ???

Not paying 2000 CP for just 1/acct. Might do if 2000 CP gives You the chance to claim it on all charcters and not just 1 at a time on acct.

So I guess it's wrong if they say you must be ra5 to get it, unless they fixed that while they fixed the bug for only allowing one char to get the ship.

That said, this ship frankly sucks. They tell you you can put cannons on it; they didnt say you'd only get arc on an enemy with them 5% of the time. The ship turns worse than any other ship I've flown yet. It takes 34 seconds to do a circle with 108 engines and full points on battle maneuvers with several points in each prior tier cruiser and 8 points in assualt cruiser. Forget turning around for loot or anomalies, you wont be doing that anymore. Cannons were a joke; I'll have to respec again for the 2nd time today. The long recharge on the lance means you might as well have just had another beam; over time the beam will outdamge the lance since it only can fire every 2 minutes. Not to mention you must be pointed at the target to use the lance; any ship except another cruiser can deny you that front arc any time they want to. I fear I'll be back in my assault cruiser before another day is out. The cloak is the one undeniable advantage of the Galaxy X; but in pve and in a tub of a cruiser I'm not sure it will be useful. Also you decloak if you scan something so you can't use them to evade fights in scan the ship missions or in Borg Hunt. I"m pretty sure the klingons cloak lets them scan stuff in Borg hunt without decloaking. Even a tractor beam doesn't seem to help much in keeping that front arc bearing; you still end up not getting to use your cannons.

By the way, a dreadnaught this isn't. It's the same size as the regular Galaxy, which is disappointingly small compred to other tier 4 cruisers or tier 5. It has fewer console slots and fewer weapon slots than a tier 5 cruiser. At least they could have made it bigger than the regular Galaxy to befit it being the only dreadnaught available to players.

You are also stuck in phasers since the lance gets a lot more damage when using phaser consoles and putting your points in phasers.

It was just bugged before, now you can get one for each character....that said I'm not sure people should be busting out $25 for it...I'm starting to regret spending the money now that I've fought with the ship.

Its one thing to make people pay for skins, pets, and cosmetics but its another to sell abilities and equipment that are supposed to be patched in not sold from an online store. Last time I checked I pay to play this game, selling cool and awesome abilities and equipment is only seen on free to pay games. I've bought stuff on gunbound and other free to play mmo's that's how they get their income because they make the game free to play. I've played World of Warcraft, Final fantasy XI, and Lineage II and because I pay to play I don't have to buy any item to make my self awesome because there isn't any income that needs to be supplemented people are paying for the game. Now I do believe in Collector editions getting extra items in game and out of game because I am a devoted fan of the game is expected. So yes my question is still the same Why do I have to Pay for a new ability and equipment so I can equip cannons and cloak on my Cruiser as a fed.

Don't worry about it. This is only the first of T5 ships that can cloak. There's more coming out during Season 2 which have the same abilities - they are obtainable via game play. No purchase required.

With this, the only benefit to being an escort captain is your ship has manuverability and the +15 Energy Weapon Power - Science Vessels...they have a hair bit of extra shields, and +15 Aux >.> If you can still captain these and DROP a Galaxy X without it flying away and decloaking - kudos

Although I must say it is rather fun fighting these in an advanced escort - Kinda rough to take one of these Behemoths down mono-a-mono though. I will say it does kinda make the escort useless when everything is getting the ability to load cannons though.

I thought Sci ships only had +10 Aux (although, they should have +15).

It's +15, I just had a friend test it for me after I saw this post - In sector space, they get a +15 to Aux Energy Levels.

But thank you for that, I actually had to check that one to verify when I saw your post. My Science Officer isn't QUITE that high yet and I slack off with her - so wouldn't know right off the top of my head

Alright seriously, £15 for a single ship?
That is 10x the price of any of the previous Starship costumes, and while you can say "well yeah but dude it cloaks and has a kick-TRIBBLE exclusive weapon" ... yeah well so freaking what!?

Unless it came with it's own exclusive Epic missions, all Cryptic have done is completely destroyed balance for anyone who is willing to pay through the nose for it. Yet after going over the forums, I haven't seen anyone really saying anything about the fact that this is just a ripp-off.

I mean jesus are we physically paying the art staff to bide the time between content expansions?!
