Defenitly not a dps ship. But should be great for anyone that uses other skills such as healers and hit and run.

If your toon has alot of points into ground skills this ship should make u stronger. But if your use to escorts don't spend the coin to get it

Its worse than my assualt cruiser. I don't want it to be over powered, but its really underpowered right now. Just give me that aft weapon slot back and an increased turnrate.

Everybody who has it still sucks, and their tears will help sustain me until Cryptic does more depressing stuff.......

This is how you know you are about to lose in PvP.

Feds went from terrible to even worse. Now that I have seen how terrible this ship is in PvP, I encourage all feds to play the stupid ship - when I'm on my Klingon.

It will likely take awhile until people realize they just wasted C-Points to suck at PvP. There are so few intelligent feds in pvp, it might be a long while.

Who shoots at escorts anymore? Galaxy X marks the spot!

[Edit] Then again, who pilots escorts anymore? These things are almost literally everywhere, lol.

I don't like teaming with the Galaxy Xs. They have pretty much proven in every match I've been in today that an assault cruiser would be a better ally.

But in fairness it will take most of them time to figure out how to use it to good effect, if that is possible.

I had three jump me in salvage PVP. I calmly used EPtS3 and waited until someone could join in the battle and assist me... When they did, the Gal-X's went down rather easily. Helped that they were equipped with dual heavy cannons and couldn't keep me in their sights.

If that had been any other 3 ships, I'd have been very worried, but I've seen the Galaxy-X in "action" a few times and realised it's rather puny.

In a coordinated team, the lance could probably be very useful in the opening exchange of fire, helping destroy a ship before RSP is popped. After that though, the ships only real use is to focus on support... Even then though, it's just one big target begging to be shot at. It would need someone who was seriously good at tanking to get any real use out of it.

Ok I have been flying this ship for a while now. What I can say is that it is not an "I win" ship. I think that is what a lot of people were expecting from it. I doubt the dev's would intentionally put something in the game that is. That being said, errors do and have happened. When you look at the setup for it, it is more along the lines of the Klingon Neg'var. A ship with the weapon slots of an ercort, a cloak, a slow turn rate and fewer hull points thatn a full size cruiser. If you think of it that way and fly it that way you can be successful with it. Fight it as a standard cruiser and you will have issues.
I play Feds and Klingons both and know what thier ships can do in PVE and PVP. IMO most pure Fed players don't understand fully the roles of fast attack ships that Klingons use. This ship is designed to hit hard, dogfight a while and then leave if getting ovewhelmed. It can hang in a firefight with the proper person at the controls but it is meant more for hit and run tactics.
I see people complaining about this ship and IMHO I really believe that they just don't understand how to play it properly. Was it worth my 2000 c-store points? Meh, it is another thing to play around with.
I know many of you will disagre with me, all I can say is flame away :)

I take it all back, I've just got the Gal-X and I'm loving it.

The lance makes for a great final attack.

Thinking about it - how important is turning and a 6th weapon slot really for a succesful healing cruiser?

Turning I think might hurt actually, since you need to get your ship withink 10 km. But the Galaxy has one advantage over the other Tier 5 Cruisers - better inertia values. The Galaxy-X might turn slow, but when it turns, it really turns. No drifting around. it is not enough to look the direction you want, you want to actually move in that direction!

It is not uncommon for me in my Star Cruiser that I stop firing for a few seconds, as I cycle through my allies to heal them. Sure, the damage dealt over the match is a lot, but I know very well that it only is that high because I deal it persistently with almost every enemy being able to heal it off unless it is actually stacked with some escorts burst fire.

Galaxy X can abuse RSP like everyone else. Doesn't matter if the ship is good or not as long as it can turn green as frequently as possible -.-

At first I hated my galaxy x, but now im starting to like it. I think my assualt cruiser is more versatile, but I did surprise a BOP today and blew him up quickly. Of course the match still ended 15 to 2 in favor of the klingons, but thats nothing new.

I am having fun with mine and do not regret the purchase at all. To me it feels like a combination of an Assault Cruiser and a Negh'Var. It feels balanced to me, not overshadowing either my Star Cruiser or Assault Cruiser. I can still see different times that I will want to use each. It will take Fed players a while to adjust to it. Klingon BGs generally have enough experience to know how to deal with new things. The Galaxy X has helped level the playing field a bit by giving the Fed players Cloak. Some feel it is the single factor that gives Klingons the edge in PvP, but players red side still have more experience with it though.

Either way, I am happy with it.

    I also still fly Escorts.

I've been theorycrafting a bit. I've been thinking that a Tractor Beam + Spinal Lance + Warp Plasma + Ramming Speed + HYT + CSV "Hell Rush" would work pretty well as a shock attack on grouped enemies in PVP.

For added chaos, a Tykens Rift and mine drops, simply to overwhelm the enemy graphically.

On a team, I bet you could do some real ugly things with the Gal-X if a Science ship opens for you with Gravity Well, CPB/shockwave.

After seeing way too many of these today, I would have to say this. More then likely you will de cloak and find your target scoots out of your arc well before you kill them. I have had more then one Gal X driver try to catch me today, all they got was me dry humping there back end and there was no way there where turning that tugs guns back on me. lol

Its possible that in a few weeks that most of the people who shelled out for that TRIBBLE X will dump it. Perhaps there will be one or two kicking with good pilots. I guess we'll see.

Well thats part of the idea behind tractor beam and warp plasma. I saw someone else citing Target Subsystems Engines. Given the power elvel most people run their engines at that will probably leave them dead int he water.

I might go so far as to say that warp plasma is mandatory for a Gal-X - too useful in shutting people down and protecting your vulnerable rear arc.

Well this plan will work against other cruisers or fed sci ships. Klink bops always run High engine power. The only tractors I can't simply slip past the 5k mark on are well speced level II min, or multiple tractors. Plasma has gotten much better... but again its not hard to stay out of with high engine power. I like the thought though plasma is a good way to keep someone right off your backside. Still have the issue of a 45 degree arc on a ship that won't turn 1/8th as well as a bop.

This plan may work on some fed alt klinks, it just don't see it working on my bops. You have the right idea though, stopping or severly slowing someone down is the best way to kill em.

If you where really going to try to be offensive in the Gal X I would suggest you look into MULTIPLE RCS units... and AUX TO DAMP. I would also learn how to time your use of evasive manuvers, your going to need to use it to try and get arc, not run.

In fact scroll down aways in this forum and read my Master Class post. I wrote those pointers thinking escorts... but it may help you out. Take a look in the Klingon Battlecruiser forums too and read what others have done rocking Aux to Damp to get some turn in that beast.

I'd agree with this. I use this strategy in my assault cruiser and it works nicely. There is a good amount of survivability and healing, not as much as a pure healer, but it makes it much better offensively because I can reliably depend on the forward arc.

How well it works on the Gal X, I don't know, but its one route to consider if you really want to use heavy cannons.
