Hey. I'm in the same boat here. When trying to start the launcher, I just get the little "Cryptic Launcher Autoupdate" box that just says "Trying to update the launcher. Please be patient. Tried connecting 1 time."

I have let that sit and run but it never gets past the 1 time.

If I attempt to start the game directly from the GameClient.exe file found in the Live folder, I get to the account login screen, I input my password and i get stuck at "Connecting to account server" which eventually results in "Connecting to the account server timed out"

There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG with my internet or network, As I am currently typing this post on the very same computer, Using the very same net connection that I use to play the game.

I have been COMPLETELY UNABLE to get into the game for the past 24 hours now.

    HEEELPPPP please!?!

game connections are totally different that web connections (different ports and packets)
post the results of tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com and nettest

    Nettest:
    Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download this file and run it
A command prompt should appear running the test automatically

For good connections, column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP.

also recheck your firewall and antivirus programs as they sometime will reflag a patched program required new permission to acces the net.

also check that IE did not get set to work offline or internet options connection lan setting did not get set to us a proxy.

I reinstalled the game, and got it re-patched (which took forever). Tried to log on this AM and the launcher would do it's thing and disappear. Usually after that I get the black loaing screen with the arrow head symbol but nothing would happen. Thought it was a bad patch. Re-installed again and currrently re-patching.

Will try to log-in again before I leave today but good to know I wasn't the only one having problems logging in. (sorry you guys are having problems too.)

First I would recommend that you do not run the game outside of the launcher as it can create lots of unseen issues with your game client. Next could your run some of these tests and copy/paste the results?

    Run a trace route:

    * Click on Start
    * Click on Run, or if using Windows Vista just skip to the next step
    * Type cmd into the dialog box and press Enter.
    * In the window that opens type "tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com"
    * Check the speed listed on the return

If you see any hops over 180ms, this could be the cause of the rubber banding.

How to acquire, run and read the Nettest tool:

    Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download the application and run it (Windows 7 and Vista users make sure to right click the icon and run as admin if you are having issues with the tool running.)

The Nettest tool checks that the ports required for patching and playing Star Trek Online are not blocked or filtered. Good values returned from the Nettest tool look like:

Column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP.
