No Game Appearing?

***A more reasonable title for this thread is "Stuck at Initial Loading Screen"***

As a long time Star Trek fan I loved to hear that a online game of this nature was coming out, it pleases my heart to hear that a developer rushed to get a game of this nature out so quickly. But it makes my heart heavy and extremely aggravated when things start to go wrong, I find that I am in need of help and I am unable to make a support ticket if I CANNOT EVEN LOG INTO THE GAME, especially after I payed for a month subscription in advance and the game as well (and to think I was actually considering on buying a lifetime membership).

But Anyway, Thank you for coming to this thread and I really would appreciate your help; this is what has been happening.

I downloaded the game via the torrent file overnight as linked to by the official site.
When I first ran and installed the game EVERYTHING WORKED FINE. (there was a few lines of text to the bottom left of the login screen saying something along the lines of "Update your drivers or else things wont run as smoothly or something" So I decided I would update them now before I started tweaking on this game. I went to Nvidia and used the "Automatically find drivers" program and downloaded that driver.

Then all my problems began.

I ran it only to get it auto patched and boot up to the "cryptic studios and Atari loading screen." When the loading bar hits about halfway (right under the D) it stops, nothing happens and it doesn't move.

When I use the options and I boot it into safe mode it either does the exact same thing or goes to a black screen with or without the cursor changing (depending on if Fast Launch is checked).

After about 25-50 attempts of quitting, rerunning, and general feeling out the program I was able to get into the main log in screen and character selection TWICE. I quit the game after I got there because I wanted to see if I could repeat the process but to no avail.

At about the 55th attempt I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, and ran everything again with default settings, etc etc etc.

Nothing worked.

Below is my specs for my computer I hope I have provided enough information for you to help me out with my problem but in the event that my problem cannot be solved

If there any way that I could get a refund for buying a game that DOESN'T WORK?

If anyone can recommend a quicker way for technical support like a phone conversation or something, let me know.

Im going to try to not to throw my computer out of a window while this problem tries to get solved.

Alright it makes sense, so lets say I upgrade to a
    GeForce 8800 GTX

Also increasing my PSU to supply the required amount of wattage.

Would I then be alright and view the game in its full glory?

You wouldn't be able to run the game full spec, but the game should run. Keep in mind that your CPU is on the lower side of the minimum system requirements.
