I was thinking about other game PvP maps and thought I would ask if it would work here.
One of the best multiplayer experiences I have is playing Call of Duty Domination maps. If you are not familiar with this type of multiplayer PvP map. It is a map that has a series of points that must be taken in sequence. Eventually you will come to a point that is being taken over by the enemy, and then the fun begins. You either win or lose depending on if you lose all of your points, gain all of the enemies or gain enough points within a certain time by taking points or kills (taking a point is worth 15 and kills are worth 1).
Another game would be Sabotage. Sabotage is when you get a bomb and bring it to the enemy base and plant it. If the bomb goes off you win, if it is diffused then you lose. Also if you are killed your dead for the remainder of that match.
I thought of some kind of space super weapon that would have to be escorted to the enemy base to be fired as a space version.
The current selection of PvP match types are fun, but after awhile it gets bland and I am only a Commander. Some different types of matches would be a nice addition. And if these types of matches are in the works or have been repeated, sorry, didnt see the information or post.
Nothing wrong with your options there. Though, I kinda see the first scenario simular to Alterac Valley in *cough* another game.
I like the second options too. Though it's like many CTF games. It would though promote a little more self awareness and not "hell, I'll respawn anyhow". i think survival builds would enjoy that option.
i do see one problem though, unless they expand the dailies to make them a different requirement. Not enough people to really take advantage of the content. would need a third daily
For those who have played TF2, one of the ones I liked was a "territorial control" map or something. Where you had multiple sections to a map, and control of each section was determined by an arena match. Sort of like a semi-persistant PvP sector. I wouldn't mind seeing something like that here.
Say you have 3 sectors in a line, with each side controlling 1 and the middle is free.
F === ? === K
Then you have an arena match to control the middle, and each victory/defeat shifts the control back and forth like a tug of war until you control the sector.
So a Klingon win makes it look like this: F === K === K
But then a Fed win after puts it in Fed control: F === F === K
And another win controls the sector: F === F === F
Given the PvP match lengths, you'd probably want the arena matches to control a mini-sector to be faster, so maybe lower kill requirements vs a Cracked or Solar map.
