I know you are not going to like this news but the short answer is that there will not be a chance in Hades that your laptop/notebook will run STO. Everything else in your system would be okay except for the video card which just is not, nor ever has been, really capable of any kind of major 3D gaming. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news on this one. :(

If you would like a more complicated and long answer I can try and explain why but do know it's going to enter really geeky territory. :P

I figured as much, but it wont hurt to try, I tried to play this game on my desktop and it wouldnt work, and I figured since Im getting this laptop from my brother it wouldnt hurt to see if it could work. I know the bad news Ive gotten it enough but thanks for you support.

Maybe we can help regarding the desktop that you have? It could be something else causing the problem besides lack of hardware support and at the very least some here, myself included, could at least shed some light as to the reasons why.
