I originally posted this in the Gameplay Bugs forum, though I think I should have posted it here first as I'm not sure it's a bug.

So this is something I noticed during some FvK PvP, I can't fire a tricobalt torpedoat a cloaked ship.

So there I am sitting in my little old science ship, and I fire off my sensor scan and lo and behold there is a nice squished BoP sitting 4 km out. I slowly turn towards him and close to 0.5 km using evasives (for some reason he stills thinks he's safe) and I launch my tricobalt torpedo, expecting to see a glorious boom and splattering of said BoP against my viewscreen. Well the Tricobalt goes on cool down, and there is no Tricobalt torpedo in the water (so to speak) and I'm floating there in space quite thoroughly disappointed as my phasers pepper the BoP for little damage before my quantums get off cool down for me to launch them maybe before his shields come up.

So is this an intended game mechanic, not being able to fire a tricbolt torpedo at a cloaked ship? I've tried it multiple times and I've never gotten a successful launch of my tricobalt torpedo on a cloaked ship. Note though that I have seen a cloaked ship run into a tricobalt mine (honestly I have no idea what that Klink was thinking sitting beside that mine)

It's just a bug, not anything to do with cloaked ships or anything. Often i have fired torps at perfectly normal visible ships and see nothing plop out the front of my ship. I do not have problems with other types of torps but tricobolt seem to be especially temperamental about it Annoying considering they have the longest cooldown.

Oh I know sometimes the torp doesn't fire. But 100% of the time (i admit though that my sample size is small), firing at a cloaked ship results in the torp not firing. I did discover though that if you tractor beam (or anything else to break cloak) and hit them in the 3 secs it takes to decloak, the Tricobalt will fire and give a satisfying boom.
