EDIT3: Dear god, it has been brought to my attention that my "frustrations/ire" is not clear. I am MAD AT MYSELF because I am UNABLE to word this so you can understand what I am saying. Any anger in these reports is directly related to my inability to explain myself! You are doing a great job! You are a wonderful person! :) (That last one was for a smile.)
(Snippit from an edit of my ticket, just to keep things in perspective.)

As it stands now, we are still working to find out the exact status of this BUG.

GATHER ANOMALY cluster missions are NOT registering on the "Captains Log" (L key)

Due to this, we are not getting the experience for these missions. Though they still count towards "Investigate the Cluster" missions, and accolade. Even if the DEV's say they don't ;) Easy to prove, just do one of the missions, the log will go from 0/3 to 1/3 (Or whatever number you are on.)

GATHER ANOMALY cluster missions are NOT giving ANY xp. They are SUPPOSED TO GIVE out the same amount as a "Relief Effort" (Even though the "effort" requires less work.)

The wonderful DEV in this thread is working diligently on the issue. I will keep this main post updated as to "what's up".

What's Up 6/29/10:
I am having some one look at this.

I've checked and checked, but I can't seem to get the DEV answers to display in the Bug forums. I don't think it is a gameplay bug, so it must be a technical issue!

Or maybe, you guys ignore us over there?

I can start posting bugs in here if it will get a response...

I am getting zero EXP for every gather anomaly mission FOR THE LAST TWO MONTHS AT LEAST.

They do not show up in my completed missions, NOR my current missions.

All I want to know is if you guys are aware of this bug or not. Is that too much to ask?

(Remember, before flaming, it is not my fault they won't respond to their bug reports (other than with spam))

(If this is moved without an answer, I will post another PC/Tech issue. Please, some customer support is all I am asking for.)

I looked into all of the tickets you have mentioned and they are all bug reports. Bug reports are the only type of ticket you do not get an answer to. There are a few reasons for this. First being we receive thousands of these a day on top of the other tickets we get(billing, tech, gm). We would have to have an very large team dedicated to nothing but responding to these. Unfortunately this is not really a good use of resources.

Next would be the occurrence of these issues. There may be 1000 reports of an issue or just one, and depending on how many occurrences that really dictates how quickly QA looks at them. There are even some situations where a bug is reported and we could not reproduce it. This could be due to lack of information on the bug, special requirements that are unattainable, or even the possibility that the character or item is in a crazy state.

I know it can be frustrating to submit a bug an not hear anything on it, but at the moment that is how the system works. Now if you are having an issue with something and it needs to be addressed because it is keeping your form playing or accessing the game then that needs to be reported as a GM, Billing, or Tech ticket.

Well hearsay is nice and all, and I DO appreciate the help.

I just want a response from a DEV that says "Yeah we know this is broken."

    OR

    "It's working fine"

    OR

    "We will look into it"

Right now, I get spam and nothing.

    That is NOT customer support.

    AWESOME!

However, I don't want it fixed toot sweet. I just want to know if it is known to exist or not.

It is not game breaking, but it is now frustrating due to the accolade system.

I know you guys are busy, and that's why all I want(ed) was an easy answer. (This one counts by the way)

I will try your suggestions, though I don't need real time support. I just need "faster" support, if that makes sense...

I will do that, I have been thinking about it and this has been going since shortly after release.

The fact I have not seen it posted on the boards, or in ticket hunts might be the problem. You guys might NOT know that this is happening!

To the GM I will be disturbing later, pre-apologies if you are already aware :D

(Thank you again! You can kill my thread now if you desire.)

    (Small Update)

I am waiting to report this to a live DEV, until the S. storm of the C-store dies down. I don't want to add more work, I am sure you guys have your hands full ATM.

A+ guys, really and seriously. I know I am only one among many, but at least it helps on average :D

A+ guys, thank you for your hard work. I know I don't say that enough :p

    UPDATE!

    I have been shafted!
Thank you for your report. We are aware of a bug with some of the star clusters that are not granting the mission to the player. This means that you can go and complete all of the objectives in the mission but you will not get any credit for its completion. We are looking in ways to resolve this. Unfortunately the only work around we can suggest is to look at your mission log once you enter the mission and check to see if it was granted to you. If it is not then simply leave the mission and move on to the next star cluster mission. Thank you for playing Star Trek Online.

Of course my report was NOT read or they would have seen that this isn't some clusters. That's okay I updated the ticket (no response yet, if ever)
This is not SOME of the clusters this is ALL clusters ALL THE TIME.

EVERY MISSION that is "Investigate anomalies" DOES NOT WORK.

It has been this way since shortly after release.

The missions do NOT regiser ANYWHERE. LOOK AT MY CHARACTERS. Find ONE mission that is "Gather 5 anomalies" I dare you.

This is NOT tied to the other issues. THIS ISSUE WAS AROUND BEFORE THOSE.

I have reported this on the forums, and it is ignored. I report it here, and thought it wasn't going to be....classic.

Please, join me for one of these missions BEFORE talking like you understand what I am saying. It is obvious you do not.

    1) NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER works PERIOD

    2) NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER works PERIOD

    3) NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER works PERIOD

Did I mention that these missions NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER work?

(I was patient, now I am frustrated)

I am going to get an answer for this. Not some spam.

    DO YOUR JOBS

Notice the key word NEVER. That means ALL THE TIME. Not "some".

    Thank you so much!

Here is proof that they are worth XP

    http://stowiki.org/wiki/Mission:_Explore_the_Hromi_Cluster/Investigate_Anomalous_Readings

I tried to check my captains log on my oldest character, not ONE of these missions is listed as being "completed"

I received another UPDATE from a DEV I will edit shortly.
I apologize for the confusion and frustration this issue has caused.

I have investigated the issue and would like to clarify. I have confirmed with the developers that scanning missions are actually working as intended. Since "Investigate Anomalies" missions provide players with data samples, which have value and can be used for R&D, these missions do not also reward any skill points or count toward Star Cluster mission totals. They exist solely to provide players with free access to anomalies, to provide data samples. This was done for balance reasons, and is not a bug in the Star Cluster mission system. Once again I apologize for the confusion this has caused, and thank you for playing.

If you have further questions or concerns, please edit this ticket and let me know.

    GM Litana
Thank you for playing Star Trek Online.

They are NOT working as intended.

    1) They NEVER show up in the Captains Log (The "L" key)

    2) I never get a chat window message "Acquired XYZ Mission"

    3) I never get a chat window message "Completed XYZ Mission"

In my reply (which I can't seem to get a full copy of...) I stated:

If these are "working as intended" then REMOVE XP from the "scan 5 ship" missions. Those come with 3 to 4 anomalies, so...

I also said, remove XP from ANY mission that is just scanning. Since the all come with AT LEAST 3 anomalies...

The last part, was my favorite. A question:

"If these are working as intended, then why do you have WORTHLESS missions?"
    (Paraphrased, can't remember exact wording.)

For, since EVERY mission comes with AT LEAST 3 anomalies. These are redundant, SAVE for the XP. Which was the EXACT SAME AMOUNT as a "Relief Effort". And an Anomaly mission REQUIRES MORE WORK.

    (Caps for emphasis)

Thank you very very very much, you have been the most awesome person ever. You earned Cryptic +10 points in my eyes. You deserve a raise, and another. (Serious, this is the BEST SUPPORT I have EVER received from this company.)

    (EDIT To Add)
Figured I would add the top part of the Ticket Edit. Though it has cut the "meat" out...
EDIT1: By the way, they DO count toward star cluster missions. Let's try being honest.

EDIT2: Maybe it is my fault, and you guys misunderstand...The missions "cound" towards the cluster accolade. They are not getting into my CAPTAINS LOG. The "L" key...And I KNOW FOR A FACT that these are worth XP. The SAME amount as a "Relief Effort". I am going to advertise the fact that you are saying these are "worthless missions" on the forums. Every other mission comes with anomalies, making these redundant and wortless...without xp of course.

Then you may want to nix the experience on all other missions that require "just scanning"

Furthermore, this does NOT explain why these missions NEVER REGISTER on my characters.

I never get a "Completed XYZ mission" when I finish them NEVER.

I never get a "Aquired XYZ mission" when I start them NEVER.

Lastly, why (right after release) were these missions WORTH XP. Then, all of the sudden, they are n...

I am really beginning to think that the whole cluster mess is stemming from this issue. I noticed it way before any of the other bugs.

If these missions are "holding open" the Captain's Log (Or something like that) could that be causing the next mission to be bugged with a "common cluster bug"?

I am also starting to remember why I hate "typing" a conversation. I obviously can not explain this in a way that you folks can understand (via text). I have asked MULTIPLE times for a Dev/GM to "tag along" for one of these missions. I get the same thing I get as a reward for said mission, nothing.

My ire has curbed back to frustration, thank you Implausible!

Want this to have its own post, so I know it is read:
EDIT3: Dear god, it has been brought to my attention that my "frustrations/ire" is not clear. I am MAD AT MYSELF because I am UNABLE to word this so you can understand what I am saying. That is the third edit to the above ticket. And goes for in here, and pretty much in general! The only one I get mad at is myself, in these situations.

    I need a mediator/translator!
