i am sorry but to me happened something i find strange
i bought game, i bought the playtime but starting game i got just only message: Trying to update launcher. Please, be patient and then it vounts the tries.
I tried to raise ticket on http://www.startrekonline.com/tickets but i was also not successfull.
i have no idea how to run the game i paid already 59+14=73 Eur and it is already 3 day which seems is gone for me

i play normally world of warcraft, battleforge, homm online and other online games, this game is some kind of surprise i simply cant get in at all

please, let me know how to get in or refund the cost. i did not find other way how to report this issue so i try this forum. email contact is available probably on this forum or pls, somehow let me know. i am really desparate

First thing to try is to make sure you IE is up to date as the game is dependent on this. There might be something possibly blocking your launcher traffic. So check all your security protocols and make sure that there are exceptions made for Star Trek Online. You can also run some of the following diagnostic tests to check your connectivity to our servers.

    Run a trace route:

    * Click on Start
    * Click on Run, or if using Windows Vista just skip to the next step
    * Type cmd into the dialog box and press Enter.
    * In the window that opens type "tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com"
    * Check the speed listed on the return

If you see any hops over 180ms, this could be the cause of the rubber banding.

How to acquire, run and read the Nettest tool:

    Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download the application and run it (Windows 7 and Vista users make sure to right click the icon and run as admin if you are having issues with the tool running.)

The Nettest tool checks that the ports required for patching and playing Star Trek Online are not blocked or filtered. Good values returned from the Nettest tool look like:

Column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP.

The patch size that shows is the total size of the files that need patching the actual downloaded data will be less (probably significantly less). Just keep an eye on the running total as it goes if you're worried about crossing a quota.

There have been several patches since the games initial release in February this year.

with patching i reached 500MB what makes my quota full on vodafone if i still want to brause yahoo mail and play also other games with patches (significantly less) - i play mostly from hotels being on travel
i may download files further from other computers using other internet and then copy to the one i have installation
is there any way i may download patch from some web or ftp or whatever with other computer and then transfer this to computer i have the game installation?
    thx

You should switch to Bluewin, they don't have any quota. :)

Not everyone lives in the same country ;) I'v never heard of Bluewin myself.

As for the manual patching, there is currently no way to get the patch somewhere else and apply it on an other computer. The only workaround I can suggest is copying / installing STO on a external harddrive, hook that up to a pc with fast internet and patch the entire game that way.

is there any way how to stop my monthly fee being used up while i cant play until i resolve? or how to get back money back for the whole game?
simply when there is no workaround I cant solve it at all ... and i cant play ... 3GB with buying new game is incredible
battleforge has 2,4GB and is played 1,5 year. while played from begining i have no problem weekly to patch up to 50MB
Startrek is out few months and presented in shelves as new game - collectors edition - this exactly i intended to play - buy dvd and get patched regularly ... currently those 3GB are absolutly unsolvable for me
in my village there is no cable internet only wireless. wireless is bound to volume and upgrading my one to new volume of data - increased would cost me 3 times more then now and in addition i would loose 1,5 year of payment while i am bound for 2 years with provider
i hope i did not lost my money, i hope you may see in game i have not played and i registered and everything but cant play

anyway with this speed of patches issued in few months patching game will have +10GB what i cant effort at all in future even increasing volume on wireless
is it end for me even with lost money?
    pls help

You should be able to submit a billing ticket I do not see anything on your account keeping you from doing this. Billing would be able to halt payment or add game time if it is warranted. If you cannot create a ticket then make sure your browser is up to date and not blocking any content on the site via addons or security protocols.

Also it is only the initial patch and major content additions that are large patches. There was a large content addition shortly after launch. The normal maintenance patches are relatively small.
