Uh oh, here comes another shot to the ol' ego. Time to hit the road! What would it take to make you quit a game? Is there something that drives you to duck out instantly, every time? Or maybe something that you'll put up with to a point before you have to make a run toward the edge of the map?
I'd generally rather not leave a match once I'm in. I did take the time and effort to queue up after all. There's always the real life concerns that can pop up, no escaping that. If there isn't another team on the other side of the map after a short while I'd certainly look towards sector space.
At least I finally know what the problem is. I made the list! What's on yours?

but in all seriousness, I think that 182/GoD will only leave a match when the opponents refuse to engage us. That means not spawning, leaving, or refusing to engage (if your a klingon) and only if the teams aren't balanced. We give the opposing team fair warning when that happens though and advise them to do the same. No one likes unfair games, if the opponent doesn't want to play then we don't want to make them. Might sounds stupid, but it saves face for the opposing team.

Wait a sec are you busting on Elash? I somewhat remember this match and I don't recall him throwing the game or doing anything wrong. If I was on my Klingon and had a 3v5 I wouldn't think twice about attacking the Fedball. Now, if I am misunderstanding what you meant then I apologize but to me it looks like you are waaay off base.

Little boys throwing tantrums is part of pug PvP. If you don't like it join a PvP fleet.
Locking my main character in Lemuria, with no response from customer service on getting him UNSTUCK ... and having me be bored to tears with my alts to the point that I spend 2 solid weeks ONLY on the forums until I realize I no longer desire to play the game and do not miss it.
That's what got me to cancel my sub to Champions. Game bug took away my main character. And I realized I was bored with the rest of it.
I don't think anything in Cryptic made games in terms of PVP could ever ruffle my feathers enough to complain very loudly, let alone quit. After I got used to ground PVP and holds and how to survive them sometimes, I got the general pace of PVP and no longer care if I get steamrolled. It happens. It usually happens because of a breakdown in teamwork/support. It gets very very very apparent that teamwork is key when you are in an unorganized team and you face a very organized team of opponents. That doesn't bother me. If all goes well, they'll kill me fast enough to get me the end merits quicker. And at the end of the day, win or lose ... all that's important is 5 more marks from the daily.
The end.
The only match in STO I'd quit would be a ground PvP match where it is 5 vs 1 or something. I'm not going to stick around and get killed 40 times, thanks.
I guess for me, right now, I'm still trying to get a grasp on one aspect of the game so it still provides me with just enough challenge to keep me interested. Plus, I like pew pewing, I love Star Trek, and I have pretty high hopes that this game will flesh out to allow for more variety and fun.
So what would it take for you to quit a match or even go so far as to quit the game as a whole? And do you think that if you left this is something you'd be interested in checking out again in a year or so (supposing it makes it that long)?
Even if you're in a pug on a really horrible team there's always PvP Zone chat to be had!
Whooops! Sorry for misreading that.
I don't think space PVP lasts long enough for me to worry about quitting a match. But I do recall being in a 5 vs. 1 in the ground and just not wanting to play anymore. This was back in March? April? Yeah, I got bored. And quit. I probably would have stuck it out if it wasn't so long to get to 40 deaths.
Boredom would seem to be the common thread in what causes me to quit things. Heh.
There is on occasion the KDF player that withdraws from battle and flees, but we make it our business to hunt that person down and make him see the error of his ways. So, in short, when it comes to real people picking unreal factions, the KDF tends to have the most honorable players, exceptions granted ofcourse.
Never seen it.
There really is no reason to withdraw a match, I have however taken dives to get one over. when it s 4v2 and on of the two leaves. I just head out and try to get it over with.
The only problem I have had with KDF players in match play is they sometimes cloak and stay cloaked. Feds seem to bail much quicker than KDF players.
Why even bother trying when you know you can't win?

within 3 minutes of each other. There was no way for us to win.
At least some feds finally realized how to beat you...well or at least play for a draw...
When asked, of course he was only levelling and thought this was the best way...then I got told to "STFU". In the end, after most other feds had rage quit, it was me and the klinks. This idiot was in every time I went into cracked planet.
Otherwise, quitting when hopelessly outnumbered? Why? Take your pounding, collect some points and move on to the next round. It may not be much fun, but at least it won't be a complete waste of time.
You knew the job was dangerous when you took it. If you are afraid to be defeated, stay out of PvP...
