For the last 2 days I have loaded STO, as I always do, and have experienced lag so bad that the game is unplayable for about 5-10 mins as I bounce around and whatnot. It settles down as long as I stay in the same zone. The moment I go to another zone it happens all over again.
I figures it could be my ISP... I tried my old and reliable fav DDO and log in and play w/o issues. I try EQ2 and no issues. My latency is at 97 with 0% loss. I tried my LOTRO lifer account and still no lag.
I figure..hmmmm...maybe the ISP lagged or some techincal jargon. I retry STO and still the same...my connection to my ISP is superb.
Any suggestions as to why anything is different in the last 2 days?
FUll moon? price of tea in china...something has to be up.
each game uses different ports different ips different routings and differnet packet configration so the fact the other work has little realtionship to the other problems
post the resutls of a tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com so we have something solid to work with.
For good connections, column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP

Nettest:
Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download this file and run it
A command prompt should appear running the test automatically
