You can find certain links here and there saying "download the demo" and so you do... then you start up the launcher, it tells you SERVER UP... Then you log in with an account just created here, and the launcher instantly switches to SERVER DOWN and on the bottom it keeps saying "Account Error".
It is not mentioned ANYWHERE that you need a serial key to play the demo, so whats going on here?
Downloading was already painful, now i cant log in to the demo and keep seeing hundreds of forum threads about account and game issues and how Cryptic doesn't do anything about it...
Funny... I'm actually starting to wonder if you have any paying customers left, and at the same time getting more and more sure about me never going to be one of them...
I've also been unable to connect, when i follow that link it tells me "thanks for signing up" and already shows my demo as being account as being an "activated feature" Are the demos on different servers and are just full or are there ports that need to be forwarded?
finally got it working, can't say i did anything it just worked this time, I downloaded the 8GB+ demo last night and now I need the 2GB+ patch, I think cryptic needs to update the installer so I don't need to apply a massive patch 12 hours after downloading the thing
The installer did not take me to that link because the Star Trek Online Demo Installer .exe didn't work for me, it downloaded at around 0.1kbps, so i switched for a torrent download, which probably has another game client...
