First make open territory control pvp maps. Then you add resources, such as make asteriod and debris fields harvestable. And be able to use these resources to make unique ships and space stations. And have differenty beam types able to harvest different types of minerals. PvP with a point.
Here is a test i want everyone to do when they are on a map with an asteroid field. Look past the field, then look at the field. Which map looks bigger? The point is making asteroid fields harvestable makes the map bigger.
I agree with the OP...I'd love to see a DAoC style pvp zone with space stations fleets can capture, upgrade and defend. right now pvp is meaningless once your ship and crew are geared.
Just because eve online is pvp-centric doesn't mean STO has to give pvp a back seat to pve content. Besides, as a general rule PVE content will always play out before its refreshed. Meaningful pvp stays interesting longer.
I''ll be cancelling my subscription because I find PVE endgame raiding painful, I dislike waiting in cues for pvp, and the pvp doesnt really mean anything in terms of advancing my ship, character or fleet.
Good game, just not heading in the direction I'd like.
