While reading some threads this morning, I came up with an idea for a new PvP ground event.
There was a TNG episode where Worf returned to the Enterprise after attending a Bat'lev tournament that he won. Yet, he didn't win. In the end, he had passed through some temporal rift and was not in his dimension.
But I digress.
Anyways, I have noticed that there are a lot of players out there (myself included) who have purchased a Bat'lev and use it as a secondary weapon instead of the hand phaser.
Why not have a tournament planet in Klingon space where there are monthly or quarterly Bat'lev tournaments? The top 5 finishers on both the Fed and Klink side would get a nice loot drop (ground-based stuff like rare shields or armor). The first place finishers on both sides would get a Mk X Bat'lev (I find it odd that the highest level Bat'lev for sale on DS9 is a Mk VIII).
If I have spelled Bat'lev wrong, I apologize.
But, I think this idea would be fun. AND, it is cannon. AND, it would add to the emersive feeling of actually being in the Star Trek Universe.

YES !!
My pc's use them too. They're great for ripping borg or hirogen to shreds. Much quicker than energy weapons too, but there is a price to pay for such close quarter fighting, so be prepared if you do.
Maybe this can come in a future patch.
However, the current PvP User Interface ruins this experience for most players.
What if I told you I created a new PvP Interface that would scale better for new maps, new gameplay modes, even new factions?

Does no one else want to see a Bat'leth tournament? Or do most people only check the General game play forum?
Oooh. I like the last one: Low gravity or hazard suit PVP. Like when Picard and Worf fought the Borg at the deflector dish in First Contact.
I thought I saw somewhere when one of the Devs (it was either Dstahl or Destra) said that implementing suit PVP was very difficult and would probably not be considered anytime soon.
