Seems to me there is a few if not more fleets and small teams that want to dive deeper into it. Since my own fleet is working on it I have been searching for guide tips or anything helpful.

Asking for thing can be an asking for a flaming move and many wont risk it. So please if some of you pvp fleets would take a bit to point others in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Please I'm asking nicely if you post for this stay on topic and limit it to help. Last thing i want or anyone needs is another post that spends more time bashing and ripping each other up. Disagreeing is fine just stay civil.

If you read this and would prefer not to post but still willing to help pm me please.

Thanks everyone

    10-second answer:
    1. Get your team on Ventrilo or Teamspeak
    2. Plan strategy as a team
    3. Practice as a team
    4. Expect to lose a lot until your team finds its rhythm
    5. Notice the word team is in every single point above

To find premade matches, join chat channels PremadePVP or OrganizedPVP. Ask around for a game, say you're new, don't be bothered by the couple of asses that hang around there.

One of the best things to do after PvP is to ask what your team is doing right and what you're doing wrong. Also, never stop experimenting with builds that promote synergy among your teammates.

Everything on that list is spot on. Another key ingredient for success is to keep your eyes open! By that I mean watch and learn what other fleets are using to defeat you. Don't be afraid to experiment. Don't be afraid to try something out even if it's not on the forum's list of "top strategies" or commonly accepted tactics. Use the knowledge you gain in defeat and victory to maximize your team's potential.

By establishing good voice communications (Vent or Teamspeak) you'll already place yourself above the level of team cohesion and synergy of 80% of the teams opposing you. Use those voice communications to call targets and ask for heals. Use the /who command when zoning in to see who your are facing and what ship types they are piloting to determine initial targeting or plan strategies.

Speak as often as the opportunity arises with those who have had consistent, long-term success in this game patch after patch. Section 31, DOB, 182nd, and 7th Core come to mind on the Fed side with GoD and Sto'Vo'Kor the two I recall off-hand on the Klingon side.

Another important thing to remember is why you are playing STO in the first place. If it is a casual game for you and your fleet and you're just here for fun and games then enjoy the teamwork but don't get to upset if you lose to those who really work at it and min/max their builds. If you're more "hardcore" PvP-centric then practice and play like you mean it and take every opportunity to improve.

    Hope this helps a bit...;)

Like everyone else was saying use any kind of voice communication with your team. This is the most important in organising your team in a match.

Practise whenever you have the chance as a team, be it in capn and hold or cracked planet.

Assign one guy to call targets so that you can focus fire as a group.
Best is to have that person be one of the dmg dealers since Healers are mostly focused on looking at the group window and not pay that much attention to their surounding.

Dont be afraid to change your BO Skills if they would fit a situation better or are more helpfull for the team.

Thanks everyone. While pretty much what I figured and we have been doing, it is nice to get reassurance. I should have been a bit more detailed in the "basic" info I was after, but i spoke with a few online and sorted it out.

If people wish to add to this I had been after things like suggested class/ship make ups or useful keybinds wouldnt hurt.
Tho i was avoiding the more technical things like tactics and and other "trade secrets", since I'm a firm believer they are better learned hands on and will develop over time.

While I'm always looking for any opinions tip and advice, I did get a working foundation om what i was after so if no other posts from people I'll let this post fade without bumping to make room on forum page 1 for other posters.

thanks again and see you in there hopefully :P

The only well regarded trade secret is what sciships/ bops scipowers do, healing and dmg dealing is out there in guides and setups.
