so hands up anyone who waited more than 10 mins for PvP last time you were in the Que
oh look thats everyone

So I had a thought on how to fix it.
First you can only join 1 que
The put a waiting cap of 3-5 minutes on the que
Once the cap is reached the game starts reguardless
But
Ships are scaled to match the imbalence
so say its 2 v 5
Then those 2 ships have 2.5x multipliers on all thier numerical effects (including cooldown reductions of 2.5x)
Since everyone fights within thier tier BO slots are equal.
now the alpha strikes one could do with 2.5x raw multiplier for instakills is an issue so in kill count matches the dmg mults could be tonned down while the hitpoints, BO cooldowns etc are increased
Now in Arena where you need to kill 15 obvisouly the 2 still need to kill 15 and the 5 only need to kill 7 to win.
Control would be harder to balence, since a ship no matter how powerful cant cover 5 control points so either a more rapid flip for undermanned teams and or fewer control points so that number of control points dosent exceed the number of people on either team.
In cases where the que is say 2 to 3
same rules as above apply , the minimum 5 or 10 to start a game is a large contributing factor in long waits
As an alternative to scaling
Simply write some PvP AI which could be as simple as an AI wingman who will copy you for the most part and focus fire your target.
Or more complex dpending on how hard easy it would be.
Then after waiting 3-5mins in a que the game starts and AI fill the teams out since AI are weaker vs humans give them a lil stat buff to close the gap and play.
This could also lead in to potentially more intersting fights
50 v 50 (7 on one side and 12 on the other the rest are AI ships)
hehehe ok wishful thinking but hey at least that would feel like a real fleet battle.
anyway just a thought
Comments
sadly the other PvP sessions were even worse...
and where is this House vs House PvP I've heard of?
I don't rarely see more than 20 klingon ships in 2-3 hours on the server.
Something I don't understand and would love to have explained is why is there multiple queues? For example, I go to a PvP area and find 15 different choices and none of them have full teams? Rather than 15 different partial teams all waiting for someone to fill them out, why not have just one queue and as the minimum number of players enter, it then creates a game and opens another queue for another game?
