Game seems to be a total crash fest since last patch.
Ive beat the TRIBBLE out of my system with all sorts of diag utils and cant get it to crash. Run GPU fan speeds at 100% during game play to keep temps under 60C yet in STO, yet Im lucky if I can even finish a PvP match without a crash and the associated 15 minute verify to restart game. Its ridiculous to say the least.
Are you using ATi or NVIDIA graphics hardware? There are known issues with ATi and the Dynamic Lighting on some people's systems. It generally effects ground more than space, I don't know if this is something you've found?
Not sure which number your referring to, the one that appears in the cryptic window to collect comments or something else? Either way I gave up writing numbers down for STO crashes a long time ago, it wasnt environmentally friendly.

yeah, have a 275gtx and I have tried all the drivers including beta. Ive had crashes zoning, in space station just standing still shopping, while in PVP, on missions, while flying and not engaged. You name it, its happened. Ive run memtest, windows memdiag and a whole slew of tests/burners to get my system to overheat and crash and the only time I seem to have issues is with STO.

You may think those numbers are useless, they are not. An error code is a response programmed into a program that is intended to give a programmer or a Dev an idea as to what might be wrong. Simply put an error code is important information to report when ever there is an error, especially a program crash.

I never said they werent important or useless so dont read into what I posted, im a midrange system engineer by profession so I know the importance of error codes, however there are a slew of numbers on each crash and without knowing specifically which they find valuable im not going to waste my time documenting them all, there arent enough trees on the planet to produce the amount of paper needed with the qty of crashes I have been getting since last game patch.

The ID number that appears in crypticerror when it collects data after a crash. That's what coderanger needs in order to look up the data which was submitted and tell you what's going on with it.
you are not the only one in the past 36 hours i have been booted at least 5 times for no reason and today i had complete sto and web site failure all scans were fine everything was running perfectly broadband speed was well over 20 megs.
the launcher would not even start and the website would not load im wondering if anyone else has had this problem

last couple crashes where I was presented a window for comments had a "error ticket ID 268" but the data collection process never ran that I could tell.
I think you know what I'm going to suggest Prime and Furmark test different parts of your computer. Run Prime95 for a while.
Not 12 hours like some people do, but if it can make it an hour, it's probably not your cpu/memory/chipset.
Well, prime runs benchmark fine but fails with the torture test. Guess I will test mem dimm ata a time and see if I can isolate a bad dimm or anything. Ive run memtest86 for 24+ hours straight with no issues.

Then it's probably not a memory fault. Temperature, power, or regular old cpu or video card failure are your candidates, in decreasing order of probability.

No I have not, but have run furmark etc etc.
