I run the launcher, it patches, then goes to the loading screen and crashes. It happens EVERY time i try to start STO. Heres what i posted on my ticket:
Have run star trek online 4 times now, after running the patch (says verifying x/110857). I click engage, the loader runs and when it is about finished it crashes. 3 times it has done this, and after every crash when i run star trek online again it runs through the verifying x/110857 again. 1 time i patched, closed the window, restarted the computer, no change. Tried clicking options, run in safe mode, no change. I bought the game yesterday after playing the demo for a couple days and it worked fine until this morning.
Here is the response i got:
Be sure to check to see if your computer specs match or exceed the recommended requirements. Also be sure to update your video card drivers.
Did whoever sent this even read what i posted? I said it worked just fine up until the patch and he tells me to check my system requirements and update my drivers. Im pretty sure someone at support is stupid. I tried installing the game on my other PC, and it crashes on that one too, but not at the same time. I can play for about 10 minutes before it freezes.
unsupported hardware is like living next to a river that has a bank of 10 feet but a flood stage of 15 feet. every is ok while things are relativly dry but come a hard heavy rain or a rapid early spring thaw and you r house is in trouble.
The hardware may work but games changes with patches designed for a certain specs. These patches may add new features or effect requiring more out of the card than what was used earlier. So no promise they will continue to work on the unsupported hardware.
