Anyone played around with the new nVidia beta driver yet? I know its mainly going to boost series 400 cards, but just curious if anyone has seen any improvements over the 195's through 197's

Slight improvement in Performance, but buggy.
If you tab out of fullscreen back to desktop and then back to fullscreen again, theres a big chance of bloom effects and weapons textures going all screwy.

    So stay away for now.

I have upgraded to 257.15 beta and have seen major improvements. was having the game lag problem for quite a while after 197. still not completely fixed. maybe when the full release comes out.

Running a GTX 480 here. The performance is a tad better, but everytime I alt-tab to the desktop and head back, the screen is completely colored with a single color (usually blue or yellow) for one or two seconds. Nothing to worry about, just a bit annoying.

The game still stutters extremely bad on Starbase 1, I simply don't know why sometimes it is really difficult to move or look around there. I hope this gets fixed sometime in the near future.

Im glad someone started this thread. I was wondering if all the people that are having hard crashes to desktop with their NVIDIA cards would report any improvements after download this latest driver here. Im having those troubles myself and just downloaded it late last night. I have yet to test it.

Try 257.21 - official release, non beta, still a bit buggy but deactivating CUDA and forcing Fullscreen on STO resolved most or all of them for me. Huge improvement otherwise...
