Here we go seeing as ra5 not much to do now we have the screwed end game and now this.

Past week being pvp and especially past there days ended up in capture and hold with 2-3 players on my team just sitting there and blatantly there just to get the daily. Even when challenged you get abusive comment back, so why dosent cryptic tackle this issue and especially make away you can avoid players.
This would mean that if everyone genuinly playing the game could block these timewasting hangers on theyd soon find no one to leech from.

Yet another problem with cryptics empty game

Is it possible they are lost? A few times, I have had to look for the action in PvP maps and other times I have wondered, as I was getting killed by several enemies, "Where is everyone else (teammates) there should be 10 players here".

I don't know about lost, but there have been a number of times where people run in once and you don't see them again. Or you don't seem them outside of the respawn area again. Let's face it, there are any number of ways to exploit just about anything in this game. People suck, lol.

Its happened to me. I start the fight and fight for a while, die, re-spawn then can't find the battle. I fly around looking but nothing. I get jumped alone by a bunch of folks and die again. It doesn't happen everytime, but it does happen often enough that I get upset that I can't help the others in the group.

They need to make the Daily's PvP or PvP option. If you are whole hardly against PvP then click a Daily PvE only check box in your settings. This is the primary reason PvP seems so imbalanced IMO (aside from the fracked up ques). Its hard to win win you have 1 or 2 just sitting there or worse flying accross purposely killing themselves to make the match go by quicker.

The devs totally miss the connection of behavior to rewards. If you reward just being present, people will just be present.

If instead, they reward contribution, then we'd have people actually carrying their weight. How do we do this you ask?

Reward based on combat credits. "Achieve 300k combat credits", instead of complete 3 PvP sessions. What are combat credits you say? Each HP of damage can be a credit, Each HP of healing can be a credit, each detection of a cloaked vessel can be 1,000 credits each capture of a node can be 10,000 Credits, each minute on a node can be 1,000 credits, etc, etc.

In T5, most people should be able to use any combination of the above credits to achieve 300k credits in about 3 PvP sessions. Except those sitting at the sapwn or off in no-mans land for the duration.

I completely agree with this. There are 3 sorts of people in salvage maps:

    1. run once to do some dmg, then respawn and do nothing to have credit
    2. pew pew pew just for fun, so we can pwn the noobs
    3. capturing the points and trying to win

The credit should go mainly to 3, second to 2..and NONE to 1.

If you win you get credit if you loose you don't simple solutions to useless idlers.

If you win you get something credits bounty merits whatever... and loosers get nothing.

Right know its like kindergarden you win or loose you get a medal.

How about a reward system that gives a drop to those who actually do something and nothing to those who do exactly that...the more you do...better the drop is....or how about and idle marker that kicks the player from the match if no input for 60 seconds or something....I dunno just a suggestion...

Back in the day, I'd leave and join a game where folk actually want to play.

Now you can't leave a PVP map in progress; all it takes is a handful of idlers to make the game miserable for all their teammates.

So I alt-tab to the forums instead. If you can't beat them, join them, and all that.

Still takes an age for the chumps on the other team to realise they've got to cap the flags though. :(

the only real way to kill these type of people is first get rid of the dailies for pvp, and instead increase the rewards for doing pvp (win or loss). You could do a point system where you get points for capturing holds, doing damage, healing allies, and killing enemies. Those points would then transfer (automaticaly) to a reward type like marks or lots of energy credits etc. This would get rid of the hosers who do not work as a team or even work at all in the pvp areas.
