yeah, what he said (never disagree with a yellow name, they have unimaginable powers) :D

In all seriousness though, as far as I can tell it can't be done, but you can place a link to the image

Cause our DEVS are active 4chan surfers and they know what an image board can do.

Huh? I thought Champions Online was the same rating.

    They allow graphic forum sigs.

Forums should not have anything to do with the game rating anyway.

I am glad I was able to bring joy to your day :) But I still stand by but i said. You buy the game, but you dont buy the forums. anyone in this world can get access to it (atleast for reading even if not for posting). If you take a look, in many other MMOs, their forums are totally separate from the game.

I disagree. Unless, of course, you're talking about the WoW forums, where the moderation is so lax that, with the exception of naughty pics, it might as well be 4chan at times.

However, I will agree that the ability to post pictures does not the rating violate, given proper moderation. Cases in point: both the CO and COH forums allow picture Posting by users. Moderation and self-governeing allows users to keep that privilege.

It'd be nice to at least be able to use animated avatars though.

We don't allow images on this forum because they can become problematic pretty quickly.

Our community team is pretty small, as is our moderator staff, so we'd rather try to keep the number of possible things we would need to moderate down to a minimum. Additionally, images can really increase the load time of forum pages.

You can post links to images however. Just remember to keep them clean, and if it's on 4chan, it probably is off limits. :p

Allowing image posts would be bad. Glad they feel the same way on this one. You know what's the worst? Image sigs that are larger than the average post. Why do people do that?

So why is it ok for the Champions Online forum to have graphic sigs, but it's not ok for the Star Trek Online forum?

Both games and both forums have the exact same rating, T for Teen. So why is it ok for them, but not for us?

    STO's a retro forum group.

We get to develop fun uses for ASCII art while the rest of Cryptic's games enjoy post-Luddite graphic bliss. :D

Cryptic owns champions online, if there is an offensive image then they can get rid of it with parents complaining at worst.

Worst case on these forums, they could lose their Star trek license. That would probably be bad for STO. No matter how slim the chances are, why take the chance at all?

That's my best guess anyways, i think it makes sense.

I can't quote the actual dev post, and I'm frankly too lazy to go look. :) But if I remember right, one of the Cryptic community folks actually said that allowing image signatures on the Champions forums was a bit of a mistake. If they were making the decision again, they wouldn't do it.

Since they've already allowed it for Champions, they can't take it away. But when they were setting up the STO forums, they specifically disabled the feature.
