yet this is the second time i have this problem. i am still running win xp. previous time i deleted the game and reinstalled and it works fine. so i am not going to do this every time the game has a major update.
Any thoughts on this? or answers or solutions?
I've just patched up too and also have the version mismatch error.
The new version is ST.1.20100426a.9 and the game patched up no probs at all, but soon as I go into the login screen I get the version mismatch error and I have version ST.1.20100426a.8 in bottom left of my screen.
I've opened a ticket but I hope we don't have to keep on reinstalling the game each time there's a patch, that'll get very old very fast:)
I did that, clicked options then clicked force verify, the login then verified 110434 files but I still get the mismatch error when I go into login screen after that.
I got my game to work now, not sure if this will work for everyone but here goes,
this is for windows 7,
I went into the game folder in my case c: program files (x86)/cryptic studios and right clicked the star trek application and selected run as administrator, the game ran then and did a small patch and started up with the new version, I quit after that and just clicked on the icon I have on my task bar as normal and its all ok.
Like I said this was for windows 7 so not sure about winxp.
I've gotten version mismatch the previous 2 patches. To fix it the last couple times i reinstalled the game client. Running as administrater may be the fix to this problem
I right clicked on the icon on the desktop and selected 'run as administrator'. The game did another small patch (27MB) and then worked fine! (All of this was done on Win 7)
