I went through all the storyline missions a month ago, and I've been grinding exploration and some pvp for rewards. After you guys added all purple weapon types to the reward stores, I've fully kitted out with very rare weapons, so there's not much need to keep exploring or PvPing or grinding for anything.
I've tried my hand at the raids, but I found them to be horrible npc zerg-fests that weren't fun or challenging, just tedious. There were no puzzles to solve or crises to mediate, just waves of Borg/Undine to plow through for rewards that didn't really beat what I got in PvP and exploration. I certainly didn't enjoy them for the "experience", anymore than I enjoy standing in a long line at the supermarket. I didn't even complete most of them, because.. why? What's the point?
I've considered rolling a new character under a different profession, but I have to confess that I don't want to run through the same content I've already seen and beaten. I'd like to play a Klingon character... if there was a storyline to play through and enjoy and not just 24/7 PvP to level up.
I assume season 2 will be the answer to all my problems with a raised level cap, new T5 ships and beyond, more diplomacy/exploration options that will allow me to use my brain to succeed instead of my reaction time and hand-eye coordination to fight ships in space and people on the ground. Because right now, they all behave like dumb "World of Warcraft" npcs that do nothing but provide an obstacle to clear and not Star Trek characters that could've had some depth to them.
So what do I do from here while I wait for season 2? I seriously want to know. I like this game - I like the concept of it and i like a great deal of how it has been executed so far. But I also want you guys at Cryptic to tell me why paying for my subscription for the next couple of months will be money well spent, and what I can do in game to enjoy the that which I'm spending my money on.
Running dailies and doing STFs is about all there is to do at max level. I started alts and ran them through again. Even started a Klingon and leveled him to BG5. Only thing I can recommend is joining a fleet. Once I joined mine, I started having fun in the game again. We do fleet actions, Fleet PvP and STFs. If you are not a part of a fleet and are looking to join one, check the fleet recruitment forum or you can check mine out (Its in my Sig).

best advice right here. join a fleet and have fun. if not if your a star trek fan, then hold out until 2.0 or take a break for a little bit, and play something else. you could also do role playing, and write fan fiction about your character.

Leveling alts is what I am doing right now. I personally think that leveling alts gives a much better sense of accomplishment than anything end-game can supply right now. And I do miss some of ships that you cannot effectively use at T5.
I think we get episode replayability by the end of the month...so that will help to an extent...id love to re do all the Fed episodes again its been a long time since ive done one.

soon after that they are starting weekly episodes.
Unsub until there are sufficient changes to bring you bet.
Honestly, I felt this way about WoW. I hit cap a few months after launch (though in less /played than STO, oddly). Back then there were no dailies and I didn't feel like running the original Onyxia's Lair more than once.
I didn't resub until Burning Crusade came out - which encouraged me to get my second 60+ alt (one made it to 70 , another 65). Unsub once I hit cap.
By the time Lich King came out, I resubbed but once I'd done the dailies enough - I unsubbed.
With STO, I went for a life-time subscription. I've spent almost as much on WoW and the expansions (not to mention the 2 years or so I've racked up in subs).
Unsub, wait for new features, resub.
My longest unsub period was DDO. I was with that game until I hit cap (which was level 9 at original launch). I didn't resub until it went f2p/sub hybrid (from there I cancelled the sub and just bought the content I enjoyed).
All i know is i made a Klingon and its the most fun i ever had ingame. Its not just pvp you have the clusters to buyt i like to pvp so for me it was great fun, just wish there was more and better pvp maps sectors etc.

I used to have a fleet with some close friends. We played it through, had fun, I helped new players level up through the same content, etc. We explored, PvP'd, the raids, we did it all... then they quit. Out of boredom.
I like Star Trek too much to quit a game like this, so I'm trying to find something to keep me paying the subscription fee. I'd like Cryptic to tell me why I should and what fun there is to be had.

Lube + your right hand..
Or just unsub and play something else. No pointing spending money on something that isn't fun.
