Zerg != Difficulty

I like a good challenge as much as the next guy, but high volume enemy spawning isn't really challenge, it just shows how lazy some developers can be. I know Cryptic loves their hacknslash play but one would think that the Star Trek name on a game implies more than that. The closest thing to a logical puzzle in this game is tribble breeding, or figuring out how they intend to bring back the massive number of players that quit.

Anyway, the point is that this zergfest makes the STF missions not worth attempting. I have attempted infected 3 times and the transwarp gate takes so long to kill usually 1-3 members of the team get frustrated and ditch before we even get it to 50%. A 20% chance of getting a very rare item is not enough incentive to even sit through that for most players, particularly since the item stands an 80% or better chance of being useless to whomever nabs it.

In short, it's not fun, it's not exciting, it's repetitive and annoying and the rewards are not worth it.

    I agree. I've never much cared for any encounter in any game which requires you to simply do a lot of hit point damage to something. I don't generally care if it's 50 orcs or 1 dragon. Any encounter which relies entirely on pumping out a lot of DSP is just fail, IMO. Far too many people miss-out in the STF stories because they don't want to have to deal with hit-point-monster combat concept.
