Hell no, as of late the most hated species is definitely the Caitians. Why else could we all have been given the standing orders as seen in my signature?
    Down with the walking carpets!

    Don't be so hate driven.
    STO need more alien aliens
All we have are humans with blue skin or an wrinkled nose, large ears...
(yes, i know, they are canon, but only because they had to depend on human actors)
I would even take an Horta as an Security Officer or an Exocomp as Engineer (or as playable Char! instead i'm getting ... Pakleds
So for my part i'm hoping for my (male!) Tactical Playable Char (until Romulans or an cooler race appears on c-store).

There there, everything will be allright. Don't worry, you will get your furball, nobody will harm you, soon everyone will see what you see and realize the bi-pedal tribbles...err caitians to be the holy grail of all STO players that the race really is.

    Feeling better already?
Good, back to plucking and airlock-throwing caitians for me then.

*Face palm again* I would say what I really feel about people like you, but I'm sure Q's hanging around to give me yet another infraction for stating my opinion.

Please just add the Caitains already! I'm so sick and tired of seeing these threads necromancied!

Aww but if they do get added we would lose the considerable enjoyment that we now get out of all these silly "give us cats already!" threads :)
All the inevitable "what the hell, part xyz of the race model isn't correct/the way I want" threads just won't be as funny.
So to make fun of all the "caitians are the center of the Star Trek universe!" people we would have to search the entire server ingame to find the 5 to 10 people that actually play them. ;)

I dont think anybody denies that, but thanks for stating the obvious. I think the curiousity(at least mine anyway) is why this particular species, with so little screen time, has such a following when dozens of others that are also canon and not yet in game do not. And just FYI: canon vs cannon :D

I have also been amazed at the amount of outrage over this one tiny little race that briefly appears in Star Trek. I have no problem with the inclusion of the Caitions I say the more races there are the better, but what does bother me is the insane amount of obsession issued out by a few of the Caition loving fans. Cryptic said they where going to be in the game so please stop spamming the forums with your threads. The amount of obsessive behavior is just unhealthy. I mean their are actually people threating to cancel their subs if this one race is not added into the game.

Most likely not Kzinti females are dumb animals. They're non-sentient and have the intellect of a house cat.

So tempting, but i refrain from writing the most evil sexist thing i have ever written. :o

Don't hold back, I am sure it will amuse me even further (maybe you haven't quite noticed yet but I am lightyears away from taking any of this caitian stuff anywhere close to serious). Feel free to send it through pm (don't expect a reply though) to avoid reporting by others (I don't report people/posts that amuse me).

Dang now I lost that kilrathi... err caitian that I was chasing towards an airlock. See what you have done now I have to start the chase all over again... bloody timesinks these furballs.

No, basically now you're just trolling, but whatever, they're going to hopefully be in. Honestly though, I'd prefer the Gorn on the Federation side, but that's probably going to happen when the Caitians get put in...never.

Right now I'm playing my Klingon character, but there's only so much of the Kahless Expanse and that one Nebula a guy can take before going insane.

So far I haven't ran into any missions in the nebula that can't be completed, my real beef there is that unlike on the Federation side, the tricorder will not point you to your destination.

Somewhere buried in this thread is the suggestion that they cut and paste the CO
    feline parts to STO.

They should have, months ago. but, they didn't.
To be fair though, the ip holder might have had some issue with it...don't know.

New engineering report is up, Caitains are slated for June 15th in the C-store. In one of Dstahl's posts (the really long one) at the bottom there is a screen shot of what one looks like. It looks amazing.

Not everything planned for the upcoming C-Store is listed below and dates are tentative

    Pack 7 - June 15

FED Playable Fed Species: "Caitian" (crossing fingers)

Just remember there is the possibility that the Caitian may get bumped; Dstahl even lets you know this. So I do not want to here anybody crying fowl or that Dstahl lied if they do not show up.:(

True, but we finally have have seen how they look, and with only the eyes needing work, they should be done by then. Even so, if it takes an extra week, I'd be fine with it. They look so amazing I'm done complaining about them not being added. Matt did an amazing job on them, kudos to him!

 I just hope the report button doesn't get abused on us players who do use Caitians or even Kzinti I think they're called.

But I agree, I'm loving how they're looking so far, and yeah, I bet one of their traits will be acute senses, being felineish and all.

Heh, hopefully not, if anything they'll probably be as much as the Federation Klingons, but all we can do is wait and see I guess.

Only 400 points? That seems really low considering all the work done on them. I'd be suprised if it cost under $10 in C-points, probably more, not that I have a problem paying that amount for them :p

That's $5 - which is fairly cheap (if there is plenty of variety to match, i.e. color, pattern, etc.)

Matt said in a previous thread that one of the reasons they have been held back was because he wanted them to have moving tails that swayed when the player was idle (I'm assuming that means standing still) so my guess is that they have finally gotten that to work.
