Well, I've done basically given up hope, its apparent they're never going to get added in. Thankfully according to the new calender, more Klingon PvE content will get added in in July, so I can at least continue playing my Gorn character then.
It definitely seems that way. Welp, guess I'll be playing my Gorn now more then ever, despite the fact that the side he is on has nothing compared to the Federation side.

Good job Cryptic.
Dont fret! Soon your Gorn character will be able to go to Klingon Hell. Of course it doesnt make sense for any species other than Klingons, but hey; its Cryptic

Well, neither does them not having specific Gornish parts in the alien creator for the Federation side, but like you said, its Cryptic.
the Caitans are a feline alien race and are in the star trek cannon. I'm actually looking forward to seeing this race implemented. I've seen them in a couple of the movies but never watched the animated series. I'll have to look for those episodes to learn more.
what I really hate is people that use furry as a derogitory term towards people. that is just as bad as using any of the racial slurs thrown around in this world to describe people of other races. It's WRONG and very disrespectful. Yes there are people that like to dress up as animals and have sex but that is NOT the entire encompass of what a furry is.
Definition:
Furry: As a noun, in reference to anthropomorphic animal characters with human personalities
Examples:
in cartoons: Most Hanna-Barbara characters, Rockey and Bullwinkle, most Disney characters, Pink Panther, Underdog, ect.
in recent movies: the chipmunks, cats and dogs, shrek, ect.
the bigges example to look at... Theme Parks! people dressed up in animal chatacter costumes to greet children at the parks
that might be more examples but I can't think of them off the top of my head. My intent here is to try and educate the uneducated masses. I'm not trying to say being a furry is wrong or terrible. Just saying that the term Furry actually includes a heck of a lot more then the sexual fetish it's commonly associated with.
How enlightening, now we know what the problem is, someone stuffed all the caitians into a cannon, i wonder at what target they are being shot at.
And after you connected people in animal suits, sex and theme parks, Disneyland lost all it´s magic to me.
lol one developer posted on the other Caitian thread (before Q locked it...for good reason.) They said
that Caitians are being done, they had seen a screen shot.
...I think that is also what they said during beta....we have some cool looking screen shots, we just need
to finish up some stuff on them, they will be the first released new player race.
<<< so, cryptic your working on Caitians.....ok prove it>>>
post the screen shots and concept art you have on Caitians.......

I'm sure I'll get jumped on by everyone for saying this, but I would like to see what they have as well if they could.
taking a wild guess....they have one test model...to take a look at a possible idea and screen shots of that
one stand alone model.
somewhere after that was made, someone decided to put it on a CD, stick it in a drawer and forget
about it because they had way too many important other things to do.

not to say they will not post of the forum that they are absolutely not ignoring it.
the ones in charge have been ignoring it and will continue to ignore it.
What any company says is of no matter, what they do, or do not do...that is what counts.
Exactly. They have "said" alot of things about Caitians, most of which have been untrue up til this point. What they say is of little consequence, it's what they do or don't do that really matters. As of now, Caitians aren't even on the calendar for June OR July so it looks like they aren't adding them any time soon, as usual. Perhaps Dstahl's engineering report will say different and the calendar update guy is just being lazy. I'm not getting my hopes up though, been down that road too many times sadly.
PLEASE! No Kazon!
I think they are the most hated Race in the Universe, not even the Borg like them (and ther are normally not selective in their choice of assimilation targets)

Hell no, as of late the most hated species is definitely the Caitians. Why else could we all have been given the standing orders as seen in my signature?
Down with the walking carpets!

Funny that you won't actually get to do that once they are added in, if they're added in, but yeah, even the Borg hate the Kazon, and like it was mentioned, they're not normally selective about who they assimilate.
just imagine all the yiffing that will be going on in club 47 and the captain's table if they add the caitians (just another reason to avoid those places)
and taken from wikipedia:
Differing approaches to sexuality have been a source of controversy and conflict in furry fandom. Examples of sexual aspects within furry fandom include erotic art and furry-themed cybersex.[51][52] The term "yiff" is most commonly used to indicate sexual activity or sexual material within the fandomthis applies to sexual activity and interaction within the subculture whether online (in the form of cybersex) or offline.[53][54]
According to a study, 19-25% of the fandom members report homosexuality, 37-48% bisexuality, and 3-8% other forms of alternative sexual relationships. In 2002 about 2% stated an interest in zoophilia, and less than 1% an interest in plushophilia.[26][55] Initial figures were collected by David J. Rust in 1997, but further research has been conducted to update these findings. About half of furry fans are estimated to be in a relationship, with 76% of those having a relationship with another furry.[26][55]. A 2008 survey updated the figures, showing a large difference, with just under a fifth of the participants describing themselves as being zoophile, and 9% being plushophile.[56] A follow-up survey in 2009 claimed that less than 14% of participants describing themselves as being zoophile, and less than 8% being plushophile.[57]
Furry characters are sometimes associated with paraphilias, with online communities dedicated to art and stories featuring macrophilia, vorarephilia, infantilism (babyfurs) and maiesiophilia, among others.[58][59][60] Some fans argue that various paraphilias normally considered illegal in certain jurisdictions, such as pedophilia or extreme pornography, are legal when no humans are depicted. This is, however, the subject of debate. Softpaw Magazine, an erotic "cub" fan magazine, has been banned by furry conventions Eurofurence and Further Confusion due to fear of legal action.

Yeah true, but "'pretend- rifle butted' and pushed around" just doesn't have the same ring to it.
Maybe we can get the devs to add a /pluck emote or ability.

*Face palm* Another moron who thinks that all the people who'll be playing Caitians will be doing nothing but what they shouldn't be doing.

While I have no special interest in the whole furry thing(beyond the entertainment that any Caitian threads are sure to produce), the last sentence of the quote you posted kind of disproves what you just said. Considering the fact that the official conventions are banning the certain questionable groups you mentioned, that shows that they are in fact in the minority, not the majority.
There there, everything will be allright. Don't worry, you will get your furball, nobody will harm you, soon everyone will see what you see and realize the bi-pedal tribbles...err caitians to be the holy grail of all STO players that the race really is.
Feeling better already?
Good, back to plucking and airlock-throwing caitians for me then.
Comments
Unfortunately.
You mean abandonware?
