Exploiter or Display Bug

Just come across a fed in the admiral level ground war zone who was a bit iffy.
He was on the klingon side first of all, but had a fed tag.
Know that sometimes happens in space, hadnt seen it on the ground warzone, intentional or sometimes bugs there too?

What caught my eye was his tribble buffs though.

Its showing 50 and 51 on the buffs themselves as if they been stacked, is that just a display bug or is he cheating?

Wont publicly name him here, but would like to know before I file an exploit report ingame.

I wouldn't want to violate forum rules and I haven't even looked at the linked pictures but whoever you guys are talking about must be the most notorious, flagrant cheater in the game.

And one would think that stacking buffs from different kits would be an easy issue to fix, but apparently it isn't .... apparently absolutely every ground pvp issue is impossible to fix.

Good thing though they spend all their ressources and assets to introduce mass changes to space noone really wants, instead of just doing a very few changes to ground that everyone would be grateful for. Ground is left 4 dead.

Well there is nothing identifiable from the picture, it is far from a unique character name if you search the captain database.
So its basicaly just an ingame screenshot which im pretty sure is ok :)
Thanks though I have my answer.

I'm also pretty sure that dropping the term "ground" in a post, no GM will even bother to read the post any further, so you should be save dropping names as much as you like in those post.

I'm confused. For some reason I thought that tribble buffs were for ground only but I'm seeing them more and more in space battles. Am I mistaken?

All buffs(ground+space) are displayed in space as well on ground(you can see several space buffs on the ground player meows screenshot shows), however ground buffs seem not to have any effect in space and vice versa.

Thats an old bug they had fixed, but which came back with the last patch.
The buffs should be removed whenever you leave a ground area, but now they dont again.
I havent checked to see if they are actualy buffing in space again, or just showing still.
Isnt a player intentionaly exploiting, just the game not doing what it is meant to.

    Don't you find it odd?
Really, he has been reported countless times already.
Kinda makes you wonder if GMs can detect exploiting.
It seems to me he is supremely confident he won't be caught.
Did you know SyFy is running a TNG marathon today?

The thing is, it is not officially considered a bugabuse if i am correct.
He switches kits and uses different and multiple ranks of the same abilities.
I think it is a bad manner from players to exploit this design fault, and i refrain from using it myself cause this is definately a borked and stupid way of kits to function...
but unless cryptic has claimed that this is considered bugabuse(and for that they would have to admit that this is indeed unintended behavior of gamemechanics that is in the game from the start and has not been fixed yet, hell not even been tried to) it is not a reason to go and ban someone upon it, as sad as this may seem.
I also assume that this would be extremely easy to fix by just not make multiple ranks of an ability stack with eachother, if someone at cryptic would just care enough to start fixing ground pvp issues.

You could not switch that fast manually.

Well maybe not, but in an attempt to stop this kind of "exploit" it still would be much more effective(and a million times easier) to just make the darn kit abilities one-rank-exclusive, instead of hunting the abusers and having to prove they use 3rd party programs to switch kits.

    Again, picture: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4040/4617396861_6c0ae95e95_o.jpg

I didn't realize Tactical officers could use Stealth Module and Motion Accelerator at the same time. Must be a very special kit that you get from singing to Rebecca Simmons.

    Hey guys,

I've been gone for a little while and am trying to come up to speed. That said, this looks pretty bad. Could someone PM to me what exactly this exploit is, and the steps that are believed to be needed in order pull it off?

Once I have that information, I can pass it along and see what we can do to prevent it from happening.

    Thanks,

    Stormshade

Wish they would do a show based on the klingon empire for a change.
The central character could be Michael Dorn it could be very interesting.

Halarious - because there is truth here. I quit ground PvP because of the constant exploits and bugs, even though Otha might be the most fun place in the game when busy. Bad time for me to go 100% space pvp i think.

Yes, space combat.... Next topic: "X does 38000 (through full shields) damage to you with unknown ability."
