Has anything changed since I left, I stopped playing about a month after release.
Any reason to play now?

Nope, even less really, with most of the game content that should be part of a "finished game" being immediately uploaded to the c-store, game breaking content being planned for rewards, servers more barren then ever. I promise you there is no reason for you to rejoin. I would give you my game time if possible because i'm so disenfranchised with this game it's not funny.

Its a lot better than release but not much has changed other than the Task Forces becoming more difficult and inaccessible.

I'd recommend coming back early August after the Season 2 Bugs have been worked out. It's the last hope I have for this game. :(

    Hope that helps. :)

Look at the Tribble release notes, Holodeck release notes and the Engineering reports and then make up your own mind. Don't let us tell you what to think. You can decided all that for yourself.

Yes, things have changed for the better.

Here are reasons that might entice you to play:
    • UI got rehauled since launch. Ship item placement is better looking.
    • There have been 4 new mini raids since launch:
      • Infected (Borg Raid Questline)
        • The Cure
        • Khitomer Accord
      • Undine Terradome (Undine Raid Questline)
    • They added the Gamma Orionis Sector - there's RA content there (unsure of date though)
    • Difficulty slider to make the game more enjoyable:
      • Makes enemies harder but increasing the frequency of their powers, resistances
      • Grants gear more frequently (and slightly better chances for greater quality gear)
      • Death Penalty - which only affects you if playing on Advanced or Elite Difficulty
      • Does not affect raids
    • Memory Alpha Improved (allows you to track progress through a visual interface)
    • Added exploration clusters for Klingons
    • Added new PvP map
    • Thousands of bugfixes and other minor changes
    • Tooltips/Info improved
    • Can now show what skill affect which ship/ground powers
    • Added a Test Server (unsure if this was during the first month after launch or after first month)

However, the sweet stuff is coming in July:

    • Klingon PvE Episodes
    • Klingon Customization Options
    • Starfleet Diplomatic Corps
    • Ship Interiors
    • Ambient Wildlife

Yea I would avoid this game right now if you didn't like where it was back in Jan/Feb. Not much has changed except for a few additions to end-game instances, which are actually less entertaining than just leveling a new character. They seem to have a lot in store in the future, which is when I most likely will restart my sub...

You might want to wait for the drastic combat changes thew will be unleashing on us. After that goes Live... maybe look for one of those come back and try STO for X days.

Indeed. If what is on test goes live, and doesn't cause a total crash and burn, then wait for the next "Please Come Back" weekend, or come back in August after then next season has calmed down.
