I'm a bit confused as to why the devs have a big space combat rebalance up on the test server right now. I mean, rebalancing things for a better overall experience is a good thing.
But why are the devs focusing on fixing space, which has always been the strength of STO, over fixing ground, which has always been a weak point.
Why are you guys tweaking something that basically works, when you could be spending that time fixing something that is tedious, laborious, not fun, and generally a pain in the TRIBBLE.
I mean, obviously I'm not a game developer, I'm just a player. But it seems a little odd to me to focus resources on something that is in less need of repair than other things. It seems to me that the developers are prioritizing the wrong things for their patch cycle.
As another example of poor prioritization, why are the devs making all this "end game" content for level 45 players, when we were originally told that the level cap would be raised to 50. Why are you putting all these man-hours into tuning, balancing, and creating content for a level cap that will inevitably be raised. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
It makes sense to me, that instead of building all this content for level 45s, that you should be working on raising the level cap to where it should be and then build content for the level 50s instead. That way you don't have to go back later and re-tune everything.

I prefer the ground combat.
I think you will find that you are in the minority on this one. Almost every review for this game praises the space combat and critiques the ground combat. Similarly, most players I've talked to tend to prefer space combat as well.
You're Wrong... According to all the PvP'ers and people who generally can't handle themselves in space... For each "I hate ground" there are 5 "I hate Escorts"...
Basically they are just doing what they can to make people stop complaining... If you take a look over the forums, you will see that their priorities are at the little girls squeaking that "'this' is overpowered".
I tend to agree with this.
