I vote 'No' it wouldn't have much use in game due to the way collision is done and if the Klingon players have problems with even a non-battle cloak on a single ship they'll never allow something like an interphase cloak.

omg just drop it already FEDS WILL NEVER GET CLOAKS apart from ones tied to defiant or galaxy x even then its doubtful they will get it. Please can everyone drop this feds cloak thing and try to engage your brains that CBS who own the intellectual property license will never allow this/never approve it. If you want cloaks go play klink or wait for romulans to be released. Sorry if that sounds harsh but seeing the same quesiton over and over again I can only assume people are trolling or they play this game without having watched the series/understand the concept of IP license.

    I vote yes.

At the VERY least the Tier 5 Escorts should all have Cloaks of some sort.

However it's my opinion that all Starfleet vessels should be able to cloak. This is afterall 30 years after Nemesis and we had the technology then. Why aren't we using it? :o

Maybe as a plot device for one mission, like the Harg'Pengs and the fire extinguisher, only to be taken away by Starfleet afterward.

Starfleet captains don't go sneaking around.
    :p
(Though I'm sure someone will show evidence refuting this statement, going all the way back to Kirk no less.) ;)

Personally, I say no, simply because the science ships are supposed to have the ability to detect cloaked vessels.

If you start giving each faction something the other one has they are no longer unique. Klingons and Romulans have cloak, the Federation does not. End of story. I don't care if you think PvP isn't fair because Klingons can cloak, deal with it. Kirk didn't complain. Picard didn't complain. That's just how it is. If there was just one mission where you are temporarily given a cloak to do something that's fine I have no problem with that. Permanent cloaks are another topic and I vote no.

No woman no cry....No Feddies no cloak. The few times the Federation had a cloaking device was for a Storyline or Story Arc. If you want to QQ over no Fed cloaks than go cry to Sisko...he is the one who ruined it for the Federation :)

I play a BG and a RA and I love the 2 Different battle strategies involved. It is that difference between the 2 that makes it fun and exciting. Leave it alone.

Klingon side cloak only (except for the new Federation RAF ship  ) is pretty much the only thing "Star Trek" left in the game.

    i vote no, i play a federation main(i have 3 RA 5's) and a (2) klingon alt's.

only 2 ships i ever saw in the shows and movies that ever had cloak was the defiant and galaxy X.

as far the game we play cloak isnt as powerfull as alot of (fed) folks are hyping it up to be, they do have a advantage from cloak, you can stay in cloak and pick your targets, get the jump on thoughs targets.
but its not a huge advantage if your ready for it.

battle cloak is about the only real plus to cloaking.(which are only bird of prey)
but battle cloak has a big disadvantage, as birds of prey try and battle cloak, their shields drop, completly, if they were being focus fired at the time, they are proably gonna die, or close to it.
so BoP captains take a real big risk in trying to cloak in the middle of combat, and the best way to battle cloak is to toaly disengage from whatever combat they were in and put some distance in and cloak.

in all other MMO's i have played there have been Rogues with stealth, and none of the other classes can do what they do, nor will the games designer make it so a palidain can stealth attack others (just a example)

as a fed, i just play the same way i do in thoughs other games, i know at any time in a pvp area, i can and will proably be attacked at any second, and try and ready myself as best as i can.
also listen, when a cloaked ship starts loading abilitys, you can still here them preparing even though you cant see them.

alot of the real power from the klingon side is(also to mention that most of the klingon lvling is pvp) they tend to run in packs, using abit more teamwork then most fed players do in pvp, and they focus fire their targets.
they tend to go from the the escorts, to the sci ships, to the cruisers last in a targeting lineup.
and all their ships can use dual cannons, not just single cannons.

its good that each side has something that make them different, they have there advantages and disadvatages.
they real power for a player is to know how to use your oppent's disadvantages to your advantage, not just wish that you could have what they have and vice versa.
if cloak was so almighty powerfull, the klingons and romulanss wouldve overthrown the federation aloooooong time ago. :)

I would love to see the Federation's superior implementation of cloaking. Fly right through asteroids and planets while the klinks can't. :D

It would certainly even up PvP and make the klinks respond with their own "KlinkBall"

I think your the one trolling, This poll is a specific poll, not asking if in general the feds should get a regular cloak,

and you couldn't follow simple instructions, Vote and then discuss so that face palm is all on you.

Initially my response was going to be something along the lines of
Definately yes. Anything that can TRIBBLE the the balance of the game even further causing endless rebalencing instead of content addition. Also, because it would just make the remaining KDF players rage quit.

However, given, the impression I am left with, that most forum posters fail to recognize sarcasm and have no sense of humor unless it is their OWN post, I'l answer truthfully.

No. No way. Federation doesn't need a cloak, never has needed a cloak and it is policy not to use them. I do realize in the shows, this all has rested upon a treaty which has kept an uneasy peace in the galaxy. With war breaking out with the Klingons, and the Romulans being added later (i'm sure in the context of more warfare), why does the Federation feel the need to continue avoiding cloaking technology? I don't have an answer for that that makes sense.

I feel cloaking should be limited to those factions that traditionally use the technology on screen: Romulan and Klingon. The federation would likely have been development technology (probably secretly) to detect cloaked ships all along fearing the results should they go to war with a faction which employs cloaking technology.

What I would like to see instead, is Federation technology designed and implemented to reduce the effectiveness of cloaked ships in combat, such as early detection, longer range detection, and probably a few abilities to reveal cloaked ships. It would be nice to see some character builds designed to ferret out and expose cloaked vessels.
