Well since I'm playin STO I always get massive lags and after that mostly I get disconnected from the server. He says "Server is not responding" and while this is happening I get shoot down from enemys. If i restart the game or log out (I even can't log out while the lag is there) the game runs normaly, i fly around a bit for a few minutes and WHHOP its there again! Sometimes it runs more than a few hours. If i always get those stupid things i can't play and this means for what did i buy it?
I would privilege that somebody could do something against that or crypict fixes it.
I've had the same thing happening for the last week after this latest patch. It has made PvP unplayable for me, everything seems fine then I get 1000ms pings out of nowhere, the game stutters like crazy and eventually comes back with my ship in pieces. Thinking it could be something on my end I updated drivers, cleaned up the HD, defragged, cleaned all the internal fans and a few other tweaks. Tried the proxy last night and it made things worse. Getting to be very frustrating, been working too much to look here and see if anyone else was having the same problems.
Will try out a nettest when I get home, but I've never had a problem with 2 fed ra5s and a kling capt 8 until the 1.1 supplemental patch.

I've been having similar problems and some people said it was my pc, that other games played fine meant nothing. LOL. Aion actually plays beautifully. I've only crashed it on a rare occasion. I'm going back to Aion for awhile until this game settles down. I'm tired of hosing my internet connection for 20 minutes of game play.
better not be your rig or my phenom 920 and ATI 4870 are in some serious trouble
for giggles I'm also going to go from catalyst 10.4 back to 10.2 to see what happens. Its a shame, just got my tac to RA5 and would love to try it out some T5 pvp on the dps side (other is heals). My billing period is up in a week and this isn't helping the should I stick it out or get while the getting is good argument I'm having with myself.
Got in my 3 explorations and 2 PvP matches today where everything was perfect, the third everything went to TRIBBLE, spiking at 5000ms (according to /netgraph).
I'd log out and back in but the last time I did that I ended up neutral and stuck in the map.
nothing strange in the tracert or nettest, no other traffic on my network, i'm at loss. Why did it go fine for an hour then TRIBBLE out in the last 10 min?
I'm having similar issues as well. I'm up here in Canada, and I'm almost certain Bell (my ISP) is throttling the ports that STO uses during the evenings. I'm able to play fine during the day, but the evenings, not so much. I've resolved it to an extent by using the US proxy, but this really isn't ideal...this all was working up until a couple weeks ago.
I've already opened a ticket with Bell, and they say there's nothing wrong. I've opened a ticket with Cryptic, and they say it's the ISP's problem....so, I'm stuck running through a proxy for now...
I have this issue as well. After 3 1/2 moths of playing STO just fine, I'm lagging and disconnecting at random. It started last week, around the time of the patch. I have made no recent changes to my internet connection, computer, or computer software. Whatever is causing it, it is not something I did.
I opened a ticket (#866,736). The GM told me to run it through a proxy and then marked it as resolved. The proxy did NOT work, and now I have to open another ticket to continue troubleshooting. If anyone has found a solution to this, I would love to hear it.

from the launcher click options under the proxy drop down select EU or US
and running nettest
Nettest:
Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download this file and run it
A command prompt should appear running the test automatically
For good connections, column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate).
