Hats?

So what is everyones opinion on having hats in the game? I think they should for some reason. I don't know why, but I just want my character to be able to have headwear, even if only on off-duty uniforms. And maybe even glasses too. I don't like the visor.

God only on civilian gear. not in uniform.

The only time i can remember any real headwear in starfleet was that funky beanie Security wore in Star Trek The Motion Picture.

Or the romulan helmet in the "Balance of Terror"

but maybe someone else can remember something.

I have no opinion for, or against hats. It doesn't really matter to me.

Maybe sunglasses would be good for off-duty outfits, but regular eye glasses would be sort of weird since by this point medical technology has advanced to the point where they can easily correct vision. If they did put eye glasses in the game I wouldn't complain.

I remember Q bringing a mexican band tro the bridge all wearing Mexican hats. That was fun, lol.

Not sure about this either. With medical science in ST not sure anyone need glasses except for visors to battle blindness, even that Geordi got replaced with some kind of lences.

A matter of taste I guess. Im all for variety and personal choices, so if others want to run around in glasses or hats I have no problem with that. As long as we dont run around in Cowboy hats. This is ST after all, not the wild wild west.

I don't think hats are really feasible for STO, especially considering the endless variety of head configurations and shapes, ridges, horns, etc.

Yeah but those where his Mariachi's. We did not see Picard Say "Number one assemble an awayteam and beam down"

"Yes sir. Mr . Warf head to the transporter room and dont forget your Sombrero"

But he should have said that.

Fun fact, the writer's bible for TNG written by Gene Roddenberry included baseball caps for the crew.
This would never actually appear until Enterprise, but if it's good enough for Roddenberry, I say let us have caps with our ship's name and registry on them.

Oh that reminds me of "I am not a merry man", lol. Hilarious.

For those needing a refreshing of memory it's also Worf being forced to look like one of Robin Hoods merry men. He did wear a Robin hood hat with feather there didnt he. Eheh!

That could be a thing if they ever add Holodecks we could wear anything according to the setting in the holodeck. Oh well just playing with ideas. Hardly possible to implement.

I wonder if I'm the only one getting that one. I take it I'm not the only one then not happy with that development in that particular game. I can see You totally understood my "Cowboy" hat remark. ;)

Oh talking of hats in ST. Q wore that luv'ly Red Judge hat during the trial of mankind in ST TNG. Oh man was that ugly, lol.

I would rather see the hats in general be fixed before any headwear options are added.

I don't know. I thought it would be silly at first but if you're all geared up in armor why not have a futuristic helmet to f\go with it :)

    Its an idea.

I would like a helmet option if I'm going to get all geared up to run some super ninja ops like an STF. I would also like some Hazardous Environment suit options to help me feel like I am exploring.

Last thread on this ended in Guinan being trash talked across 3 sectors of space. :p

    Yes for Off-Duty hats.
Maybe a helmet option for aliens? Not every alien can survive in an oxygen environment.

    "He is back!"
"You weren't like that before the beard!"
    Hats you ask?
    Worf doesn't give a sh*t.

I would also think that culturally, hats and face coverings might me the norm for some species. I just like options.

I think we should have all of Q's classic costumes unlockable as off-duty costumes via accolades.

For extra fun, the accolade should prompt a shipboard mission where Q shows up on the bridge to "award" us with the costumes. (Ie. a temporary debuff which changes our uniform to the costume but when we go to our off-duty uniforms, the costume option is added)

I would not mind options for off-duty headwear.
How about Kirk's reading glasses lol.

I could see hats for off-duty options, but not for uniform wear.

I Keep hoping we will get the TNG dress uniforms at some point.

Starfleet Science doesn't have hats per-se but head coverings occassionally (thing of old Tron style).

Let's not forget Ezri Dax in her desert gear (though that's more of a hood).

But my ghost Obi-Wan looks so good in his. :p

Forgoing the arguement on more accessories being made available ingame, I'd rather get missions where I have to wear a disguise or costume other than my uniform.

Combat or Hazmat type helmets might be an interesting way to expand on ground gear, *with* stats. Or maybe just things like rebreathers.

After much careful deliberation on this subject i have decided i may have been wrong. I will concede hats If i can have a pin stripe suit also just so i can make an Iotian captain named Bella Oxmyx

"Hey Klingon dats not bad. Tell ya what im gonna do. I gonna make ya an offer dat ya can't refuse"

Well, I hate to bring this up, but they were part of Starfleet Security during Star Trek III: TSFS

Remember the "Don't call me tiny" scene?

I thought they were ugly and hope they never return....
