Put the ships in the Poll into tiers.

Excelsior. Tier 2 or 3.

Oberth. Tier 1? Really it's supposed to be weak.

NX-Enterprise. Tier 0 like the useless Runabout. This ship is useless.

Ambassador. Tier 3.

Nebula. Tier 4.

Enterprise J. DO NOT PUT THIS UGLY TRASH IN THE GAME!

Now honestly it matters what we're talking about. If this is a completely NEW Excelsior-class and not the old one then it'll be tier 2 or 3. If it's just the old one it would be like tier 0-1. That thing is old and sucks at this point. I assume all these ships will be upgraded versions of the class (besides J).

to be honest they would be better getting rid of the tiered starships totally and instead have the ships scale up depending on the level of the player AND each provide a different level of bonus so you can see more than the same three starship classes at rear admiral and that fleet actions would look so much better with varied starships filling different rolls.

as for the excelsior being a peice of trash, if somthing isnt broke dont fix it.

The excelsior like the COnstituion and miranda are tried and tested space frame the excelsior more so as it was able to undergo constant refits up to and including the next gen. so i dont see why it should be just relegated to low levels.

i do agree with the JJ prise its just ugly. as for the nX it was meant to be a test bed prototype for the warp 5 engine and to be honest the defiant class would be a far better starship over the nx

The Enterprise-J is an ugly beast to be sure, but it's not worse than the utter mediocrity of the DSSVs or the Victory (which thankfully isn't playable).

Edit: Awarkie, the E-J isn't the JJ-prise, it's a gigantic pizza cutter from the 26th century.

Oberth. Tier 1? Really it's supposed to be weak.

T1 is a light cruiser. Everyone is supposed to fly it. (Heck, everyone starts off the exact same due to the tutorial being what it is).

I see and concede your point that the Oberth isn't an especially strong ship. But I think due to how T1 itself was designed, that T2 is the cutoff point for this kind of list.

Which is why you ignore that and make tier 1 not suck and stick in other ships.
