I have no idea mate. I know we all got 1 buddy key ( apart from the CE who got 3/4 maybe? ) and that each of those keys was a no restriction 5 day play key. I gave mine away to the first random stranger who asked me ( because I'm nice like that :)) Some people are saying that those keys were nerfed but I've never seen anything official to suggest that. I would not be surprised though, Cryptic must have been upset that dedicated players could reach level cap if they wished in that 5 days and were unlikely to subscribe.
It would be very underhanded and quite possibly against advertising rules to retroactively reduce the time advertised with those keys.

The only reason I mention them is people keep using the term 'buddy key' when they obviously mean referral key. The referral key offers no game time and I think that people are being duped into using referral keys thinking that they are going to get some more play time past the demo when in reality all they are doing is tying their account to that of another players so that other player can get perks if the referred player buys and subs to the game.
