No, thanks. I'll vote for the ship I like, and you can vote for the ship you like. Deal? Also, since the ship was never shown next to any other ships on screen, its size hasnt been established in canon.

first - im not even sure that is the exact look of the J, its seams to be all wrong on the cutsection.
second - where in the show does it say it is that big. was that 3210 metres on an actual display panel or has someone just made it up?
and finally -the game takes place in the 25th century and this is 26th. whilst i suppose its possible that this class of ship could have been built in the 25th and the Enterprise J just happened be one of them built a hundred years later, it seams unlikely.
i would like to see it in some time travel episode. maybe you have to go to the future and you meet it
yeah, and look how missplaced it is ^^ this ship will be built two centuries in the future, with technologies yet to be developed. it just wont fit into the time the game is playing, i think.
I voted for the Excelsior.:) And I pray to the Great Bird of the Galaxy that the Enterprise-J will never exist in STO. Not only does it belong into a far far future, it also belongs in one I would like to ignore (goddamn temporal war ENT retcon TRIBBLE).
The problem is, the guy who designed the ship doesnt decide what is canon and what isnt. He can say whatever he wants all day long, but for all we know Paramount may not agree with the size, just the appearanc(which is all that was shown on screen). The point is, while the appearance of the ship is canon, its size is not until there is some reference shown on screen.

Your opinion is fair enough but remember the last episode of TNG. Enterprise D was suppose to be around for a very long time. Did it happen ? No, it did not. Also remember on the Enterprise series that Archer stop the species that would have cause that war in the future. The future is always changing because it is not written yet.

Actually, it has been established in canon through the ships of the line book. It's HUGE, the size of New York or something and it has a shunt drive so instead of going through warp, it folds space to appear wherever it wants.
Edit: Read on memory alpha that its 2 miles long. Not exactly New York but still big :P
Yeah, badass futuretech but I don't think it works with STO as much as I think its cool. Might be good for an NPC ship that shows up in a mission or two though!
I'm an Ambassador Fan. And outta all of them, my loyality rests with the class. I feel like they're beautiful ships, like the Constitutions and Intrepids.

if it made it ingame, I doubt they'd make it to scale  would probably just be the same size as a T5 cruiser
Its not the size that counts....its how you use it!
it's 2 miles in length
Size matters
And not how you think
Im talking bout your heart
And what you do with it
*cracks a mirror* Ooops.
Anyways... Oberth power!
Enterprise-J has one tiny problem btw... It's made for galaxy exploring. Not a single quadrant exploring.
I dont think you understood what I said, but thats ok.

the guy that designed the ship says it's that big
ok fair enough but id like some on screen proof to back that up or at least the quote from the person that designed it

Under the 'Background' section.

No thanks.

well colour me pink
still think its too early in the timeline to see it though.
I don't see a present need for the Enteprise-J.
