The lates poll is the final straw. Seriously, you don't even put a single kdf ship in there? Not one?
I'm sorry, it was fun while it lasted, 45 60 90 days - nothing of quality happened to kdf that can be held to any sort of a standard. I am not going to spend cash on a product/service that does not deliver.
I might be back if you ever get this game to release ready status.

If you're really going to judge by polls, Yesterday's one featured a screenshot of the Klingon's Ready Room. And Season 2's main focus seems to be KDF content. So doesn't look to me like future plans involve abandoning KDF.
But in your case, I'd reccomend checking back after Season 2 launches. I doubt there will be much to make you happy prior to that.
Sorry man, but they abandoned the KDF even before launch.
Oh, come OFF it!
They are working on on KDF stuff. Read the engineering reports.
It's coming.
What the fed stuff is is just fluff. It's just cosmetic. The Klingon side of the coin NEED solid gamepaly to put it on par with the Federation side. That's what they are working on. When they get it out, you'll nod doubt see a ton of fluff introduced as well.
They are working on the KDF, but it does seem like they favor the Federation side.
It is more fleshed out.
But to be fair, they have come a long way to making the Kilngons playable, in my opinion, anyway.
I tried one really early on, and found they were as buggy as the fed side was, but there was way less to do.
To those of you Klingons out there who made it to RA5 with all those previous bugs, and extremely light content, you are a better player than I.
At least now they start on Quo'nos, and there is some kind of general direction to point you along a path.
too little too late. It's the lack of communication that's concerning. There is so few of us left now. There is so many other options out there if you're looking for a mmo. Klingons were always my favorite race in all of the tv shows, I guess orcs will have to do now

4.5 months after going live, the faction is STILL in a sorry state, and more and more things keep getting made for the Federation.
They can say they'll do this and do that for the faction, but the reality is this: They haven't done anything worthwhile for the KDF, even after 4.5 months after going live, **knowing full well** the faction was and still is in a woeful state.
THAT IS FACT.
Edit to add: Take a look at the majority of things ACTUALLY implemented into the game. Again, Cryptic knows full well how poor the number of ships are for the KDF, but what do they do? Ask about what Federation ships people want to see put into the game.

Maybe when four and a half months have passed since the game's release, I'll agree with you, if the Klingons are in the same state that they are now.
But it's been 101 days, or 3 months and 2 weeks.
It's true they have done very little for the Klingon side, though. That I can agree with.

I'd wait for season 2, or at least come back to see that. Klingons are getting equal parts in ship interiors, new missions including going to Gre'Thor. Not to mention a dev post recently saying that they want to give Klingons a new system like the Starfleet Diplomacy to make them feel unique.

I also said this in another thread to someone.
If Cryptic had been implementing KDF stuff like madmen, patch to patch ever since going Live, then you wouldn't be seeing stuff like my ranting about the Klingons being discarded. At least we'd see they were ACTUALLY working on KDF stuff and putting it out.
But they're not even trying, and they insist on putting in more stuff for the Federation.
Again, the latest ship poll is a great indicator in their mindset, but the biggest indicator is just simply logging in with a Fed toon and then trying to play KDF.
The difference was night and day at Launch, and it still stands now, and the gap has only grown larger.
I play my klingon characters most of the time and here is what I see. I see a few QQing about the klingons missing stuff for pve. What? we don't have any story mission. They're coming. Maybe not fast enough for ya but they are on there way.
Sure, ship customization for the KDF sucks. However, take something into account. There wasn't that many different Klingon vessels anyway. So, no reason why you can't be patient.

Cryptic sure as hell didn't mind making up some Federation vessels, did they? Tacking them onto the already rich selection of Fed ships. Not like they even tried much to come up with KDF designs, and it STILL shows.
Also, you cannot dismiss the fact that there are far, far, FAR fewer KDF players in this game compared to the Feds. There's more that would try the KDF but know full well that the gameplay is essentially one-dimensional. And it's not like the devs have done much for the faction even to this date.
You talk about Cryptic will do more into the future. Well, I've been in other MMOs where devs made constant but eventually empty promises to try to string you along for longer periods and taking your money. After a while, you realize they haven't done s**t and you still lined their pockets with your money.
What has Cryptic actually done for the KDF? Not much. They can talk all they want on how much they love Klingons and what they're going to do. But I'm Doubting F**king Thomas. F**k Blind Faith. Show me some real stuff in-game for the KDF, not promises and wishful thinking.
I thought I bought a Star Trek Online game, not Starfleet Online.
Again, in the same light as what the OP brought up: Cryptic knows full well how far behind the Klingon ship selection is. And what do those idiots do? They ask what Fed ships people want. They're not even putting up some KDF ship ideas to see what is preferrable. They're not even bringing up even more CANON KDF ships to check interest.

You don't have to explain broken promises to me. (I have to wait till cataclysm to see some real love for BM's)
It isn't a point of shut up and wait but more along the lines of stop complaining about the same thing over and over again. At least not with out getting more descriptive. Most of the complaints I see consist of "Cryptic hates klingons". Cryptic won't help the Klingons blah blah blah. What I don't see is constructive, descriptive posts concerning things needed and wanted for the klingons.
Example, I have seen a post about wing changes for the BOP. Fine, but what other customizations for the KDF are needed? Here's one... (This was my idea) Allow the Ktinga Refit hull to be used with the Ktinga standard boom. Or how about changing all the klingon BO slots to universal to compensate for the lack of ship customization. (I might make a new thread about that one.) My point being is there has been a LOT more fed constructive posts with suggestions than similar klingon threads.
Honestly, I wouldn't expect Cryptic to make to many changes until they know what we really want, outside of general terms.

Just check that out for the free updates they gave that game.
EDIT: Oh and I was just thinking about it, changing all klingon BO slots to be universal would be interesting, something maybe they should look into. I've always wanted a tac or eng carrier. And if it were really Star Trek online we'd have Romulans, Cardassian, Dominion, Borg, Trader, Maquis, and many other factions.

What do you think has been brought up before in the Klingon subforum? Issues have been brought up, suggestions made. Heck, we pointed out NPC uniform items ingame that would be great for KDF players. We've pointed out more CANON KDF warships for them, even though the pickings were slim. We've pointed out the lack of KDF uniforms overall, and even shown examples from the movies and tv shows.
On and on and on.
And what do we get? Jack sh*t, but Cryptic asking what Federation ships we'd like to see.
To be honest with you. The KDF didnt have a wide variety of ships. They only used one model for BoPs from the TOS Movies up to Deep Space 9. Its not like the Klingons valued aesthetics in their ship designs.

As far as ship customization, I have a feeling that might be more CBS than a lack of talent or desire at Cryptic. Yet, I don't know for sure. Just a guess on my part. Same with the uniforms. (I say that cause otherwise the Feds wouldn't end up with star cruisers that look like luxury liners. One of these days I am gonna get one and name it the QE2)

It's probably not a lack of talent. Looking at some of the designs that CBS doesn't have to watch too closely like the random alien ships, they look really cool a lot of the time. And that new klingon cruiser looks awesome, just the carrier sucks for the most part. CBS is actually holding this game back in a lot of ways, with music as well.

yep, they've done ANYTHING AT ALL for the KDF faction in the 3 1/2 months since launch.
They haven't:
- Increased Klingon ship customization a bit
- Added PvE Star Cluster content in the B'Tran Cluster.
- made some PvE Fleet Actions available to the KDF
- Made some of the STF content available to the KDF
- Created sone C-Store Klingon Bridge variation sets
- Added the Difficulty Slider and Injury System to the KDF (because it's still just a PVP faction)
OH! WAIT....they have!
Also, as to still uncoming KDF faction content, they also haven't announced that the Season 2 Update will have:
- Episodic PvE missions (like the Federation faction has now) with it's own unique/original storyline (ie they aren't just going to take the Federation stuff and replace the word 'Federation' with the word 'Klingon Empire' everywhere)
- That Klingons will ALSO get expanded ship interiors with the same functionality as what is being designed for the Fed faction.
- Announced a customizable 'Ready Room' interior for BOTH the Fed and KDF factions 9and they didn't post screenshots of both either - nor did they ask Klingon players for input on what type of Trophies they want to 'hang' in said Ready Rooms.
Oh wait, they DID actually announce the above as well, silly me
But of course, further down the line, they DIDN'T:
- Announce that they are looking tnto Cross-faction Teaming for STF content that is availabe to BOTH factions.
-Announce that the KDF will have access to the STO 'crafting system'. (for what it's worth).
Oh, WAIT, they DID announce this for the KDF.....
Yep, I can certainly see how you could come to the conclusion that the STO Dev Team has all but abandoned any further work, or PvE and other expansion on the KDF faction...oh, wait...
Th major stuff is being held back till it can be released all at once.
While some players might like a new, free costume part (or ship part) every week - the reality is that most would prefer seeing all of that updated at once (due to the sizeable difference between the factions).
Until then, Klingons have been improved since launch (via their own Exploration Content - which breaks up running PvP considerably)
well the feds now get the modified future enterprise D and its mega death beam phaser mounted under the saucer for 5 refferels but wheres the kdf love, i want like a chancellors neghvar with all univeral boff stations and a super death dual beam pre mounted!
I've been levelling my klingon lately through PVE. An only PVE. As an experiment.
It's slower than Fed, because of the lack of story arc content. But it's faster than it was when it was only pvp.
(And certain new things on tribble look to be slowing PVP down dramatically anyways).
So, I don't know. There's still a lot of bugs with some of the exploration missions. But it's going ok.
In terms of ship customization. Or new Klingon ships.
Let's see some screenshots. I want to know what options Cryptic has. Because in the shows I saw a LOT of K'Tinga cruisers and BoPs. What did I miss? What aren't they giving Klingons?
Educate me. Please. I'm not being "rude" here. I really want to know what I am missing. I mean that sincerely. I know I missed some ships along the way. And right now, for the life of me, I can't remember much besides what's in the game already.

Exploration content? LOL!
The things are, if you can believe it, even more bugged than the Federation originals. And they've done nothing fix them. Tricorders don't work in ANY ground mission. Mission targets don't spawn or spawn on top of buildings and can't be attacked. Buildings floating in the air. Crippled bases / ships that you fly in to protect but are nowhere to be found. The occasional space anomalies to remind us that Memory Alpha is Fed only, not KDF. You realize that certain mission types are so horribly bugged that once you recognize the type, you simply have to quit mission or be constantly frustrated and waste your time.
The only thing of note they tried to implement for the KDF was done in a completely unpolished, half-a**ed manner. And they have done nothing since to fix any of it.
What about the endgame, high level Borg missions? If it requires a KDF group, it's not going to happen for you.
Welcome to Federation Online. Where after level 6 you can make a klingon character to play around with when you are bored.
Signed. Atari/Cryptic has effectivly abandoned the Klingons at all. After all I stopped believing what thea write into ther Engineering reports. The Feds clearly got prrof of progress, ex. with the viedo from the DS) fleet action, Klingons got nothign at all.
I made a new Klingon yesterday to see what has changed and be side the crapy exploration missions thereare only Die 50 times or kill 50 times missiones. No improvement at all.
The Klingons need decent PvE content like the Feds or the faction will die.
You know, it's entirely possible that since Cryptic works in teams, that maybe, just maybe, they have a dedicated team working on Klingon assets, and with the focus on 2.0 and Klingon Episodes, they might not have enough people on the KDF team to pass around right now.
I mean it would take quite a bit of effort to get a full set of missions coded, storylined, graphically placed and baked in an oven at 350 degrees for a few months.

I created a character yesterday as a kdf and at first i thougt that it seemed ok, with a good start, showing me around.
But as soon as i had goten the first mission and bridge officers and left the planet i was supprised on how crappy the missions you get was.
destroy 50 ships
die 50 times
etc.
is this a joke?
no wonder kdf players are anoyed and complaining.
Also, this makes me worried and wondering with the fact that they are asking about what playable race/faction we want next.
I mean seriusly, are they going to be the same as the klingon facton? if so, then they really need to re-think this.
While some players might like a new, free costume part (or ship part) every week - the reality is that most would prefer seeing all of that updated at once (due to the sizeable difference between the factions).
Until then, Klingons have been improved since launch (via their own Exploration Content - which breaks up running PvP considerably)
/sigh
You want a Neg'Vahr? Really?
Not enough KDF players.
I mean it would take quite a bit of effort to get a full set of missions coded, storylined, graphically placed and baked in an oven at 350 degrees for a few months.
Just throwing that out there.
