Just wondering when Cryptic is going to put up the June calendar on the website so we can see what's coming up. Can any devs/Cryptic employees give us a rough time when the June calendar is going to be posted? Thanks in advance!
The lack of June calendar content reinforces the impression that the game is in trouble. Someone said that the calendar guy quit, but I'm not sure if it's true. They should fix the main page though, giving casual onlookers the impression that a Summer of content is in the works.

Really? One little calendar means the game is in trouble? You do realize we are just ending the 2nd full week of May which means they have another 2 full weeks to release one. Plus all the information you need to know about future content is right here http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=156077

Reread my post please. I didn't claim that the lack of calendar means anything other than a lack of website attention. I said that it may convey a false impression, whereas an updated calendar for the summer on the main page creates a good and correct impression.

You never said a false impression. The way your posts sounds to me is that by them not having the June calendar up could mean the game is failing, or a sign of it failing. If this is not what you meant then I apologize, its just how I read it.

We need to be fair with each other. I'm quite critical of the game as are others but I've never said I hate it. Yet I am persistently called a hater. I have never said the game is failing yet I get accused of claiming the game is failing or worse, actively trying to make it fail ( who do you think I have influence with? )
The one that annoys me the most is the term 'doom and gloom'. Looking back this is a term only ever used by apologists for the game as some kind of rebuttal to those who have genuine complaint.
The only doom and gloom merchants around are the ones using the phrase in a manner that is meant to somehow invalidate the views and opinions of other people who are paying the exact same money to be here and say those things.
It does not matter how much you like or dislike STO, it ought to be a matter of courtesy to allow others to have their say about their opinions.
( not aimed at anyone in particular or the quoted poster. It just gave me an opportunity to say something that's been niggling at me )

You know the same thing bothers me about people who use terms like 'apologists' and 'fanboi' to invalidate the views of anyone who has something positive to say about the game.

Like all things, its often a two way street.;)
I did not use the non-word 'fanboi' and 'apologist' is a perfectly acceptable term to describe someone who defends and makes excuses for something without accepting and referencing its faults.

You'll never get anything but honesty from me.
I think your missing the point that using the terms like 'apologist' does exactly the same thing in the other direction. Such a term attempts to invalidate the poster because on that particular topic they had something positive to say. I'm a little surprised that you of all people don't see that.
Just because someone is happy with the game it doesn't mean they dont want to see it improve as much as anyone. More than some in fact, since they plan on sticking around longer.

I'm missing no point. I'm not talking about the people happy with the game. I'm talking of apologists. It's descriptive, not accusatory.
There are plenty of them. "it's coming soon" "it's not finished, you have to give it time to grow", It's not Cryptic's fault, they had no time or money "
You know the ones I mean. That's as damaging as being overly critical because at the end of the day its just as untruthful. People just ought to tell it like it is in the moment and not have others label them. ( before you pick up on that I did say 'descriptive' )

All I'm saying is attack the arguement, not the poster. I've never seen a usage of 'apologist' on a game forum that wasn't an attempt to try and disregard a poster without actually responding to what was said.
I've never recall seeing you do this, so thats why I was surprised you're defending usage of the word.

Maybe Zoot is just being an apologist about being a hater so he can hide his fanboiness from the kind, constructive feedback expected nowadays. Yet, I can see how someone would consider it a slap in the face for being thrown under bus for being gloomy about all the doom. Don't mind me, I have no idea what I was trying to say other than I know for a fact, I wasn't trying to make sense. AKA... it's a joke and a bad one at that.

and 'attack the argument' I agree. But please remember why I made my comments. It is to stop people being polar opposites and seeing an enemy as opposed to a partner for a solution.
As I said, for me it's descriptive. Not an insult. It's the same as defender but for me says more. A defender blindly defending something without cause but for the sake of being a defender.
I have the vocabulary to insult 90% of this forum without them knowing but I assure you that I did not mean 'apologist' to be or to appear to be an insult

It will for some if they don't get to play as cat people

Haha its already been said that they will probably come out in June.

Thank you for trying to add rational to my irrationality.
