This would get me to PvP...

I'm not trying to push this other game but I think there are specific things that are worth noting here.

The new Transformers game has online Co-Op. It's supposed to have a robust character creator to give you a custom identity. There are some theoretical similarities.

But notice that they use voice. It would appear that there are even incidental audio emotes in PvP. Note the dynamic lighting and dynamic environments. Notice how the characters move at variable speeds more freely than we do. Notice, in particular, the types of objectives.

This looks to me like a very Cryptic-style game, in terms of its basic philosophies and designs, on the whole. But they've taken what Cryptic does to a new level and I think Cryptic could borrow from games like this new TF game for inspiration.

Well I must admit the one thing that would get me to PvP would be transforming my ship into a robot. :D

That game looks like Marvel Ultimate Alliance with robots though. *checks* Yup same dev it looks like. From the look of it though, it doesnt seem to be massively multiplayer. More like MUA2 where you have a single player console game with some multiplayer options. You cant customize your character in the single player game.

The game looks pretty good. But since its just que matches like STO has Im guessing it would get boring as STO's PvP system. So I dont see any diference long term.

I think one difference this highlights is the locational drama.

Compare ground maps like DS9 with the original maps in game. More levels and a diversity of art assets in an area coupled with more things to do leads to heightened sense of control and drama.

The queued PvP maps are one reason I cite the games as being potentially similar.

And character customization is one thing the devs on TFWfC are touting. In multiplayer maps, you play a customized character; a big part of that game appears to be creating your own Transformer.
