I absolutely love playing space combat on elite. Ground combat needs some balancing (or I need to become a much better ground combat player :D).

From other posts I had concerns about the costs associated with injuries, and after some personal experience they're not too bad. I do find it a little hard to believe that my doctor & engineer can't fix major problems on their own (or can they? I had a ship injury that cost me 0 to fix), and the doctor can't fix critical problems (yet I can still fight with one).

After an afternoon of elite space-combat play, in addition to injuries, I only picked up one minor component, a few white items, and one green item. Certainly, the cost of the injuries were not recompensated for by playing on the elite level (I had expected at least a blue item for a few hours of play). So, some balance might be needed here.

I'm really not sure if Ground Combat needs tweaking on the Elite Difficulty or if I just need to have the very best items in every slot and need to use the very best tactics to beat the NPCs on the ground. LoL

However, Space combat is excellent on Elite and I feel that by playing on Elite, I can only get better at playing the game, provided that I stick to the Elite level, do not back down, but no when to retreat to regroup and attempt to take the ground missions with better gear for myself as well as my BOffs, and more creative tactics.

Playing on Elite is definitely more rewarding, but only if you know when to retreat as I said before, if what your doing is resulting in death, then your either doing something wrong, your not readily prepared for the hostile engagement or the NPCs are simply to over powered to defeat.

I don't think it helps when the ground NPCs seem to focus all of their firepower on one enemy at a time (Sometimes) which usually results in death within seconds, so the AI could be tweaked further, the AI will probably always have room for improvement.

Generally on Elite, ground combat can be won easily provided you have a corridor or some kind of structure you can use to separate the enemy or funnel them, meaning you can take one or two at a time while the rest of the NPCs are still figuring out how to get to you.

For example, if I'm running through a corridor, I'll press M check the sensors on the map to see if the enemy is in the next room and then I'll position my bridge Crew in tactical formation in an attempt to flank the enemy inside the corridor.

Once I've positioned my Bridge Crew, I'll leave the corridor and sneak up to the nearest enemy, fire, then run back to the corridor. The enemy will hopefully follow one after the other, which allows my Bridge Crew and me to focus fire on the enemy one at a time as they enter the corridor.

However if your in a ground combat situation which is out in the open, where there are no structural objects you can use to your advantage, then your almost certainly going to have trouble.

I'm happy with the Injury System (DP, but teh Injury System needs minor fixes which I have listed below.

QA and / or Devs, may I have your attention please.
