Poll: What feature do you want the most?

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
There are alot of things we all want to see added to the game, so I have two different questions for you(click on links below):

What feature do you want to see added to STO the most?

What feature do you want to see added to STO first?

After you vote, please share your thoughts :D

    CONTENT. :p End-game content that doesn't feel like a boring grind. ;)

New episodes is fine, but I want specifically end-game content. And STFs is not the best end-game content considering how Cryptic is implementing them. Another option for Non-STF end-game content?

I'd like to see some carreer-specific mission lines so leveling is the same old story.

I'd like that too, or at least just double the existing missions so that leveling an alt wouldn't be a repeat of history.

But more importantly, end-game would give the biggest benefit to the widest audience since not everyone wants to level Alts.

I so get hated when I say this, but from the start they had originally said klingon was a pvp faction. Then everyone played it and 'OMG where is the PVE!' So now because our Klingon friends spent more time with Bat'leths then books we have dev time going to them. Bah!

I'd like them to get the Klingons finished and on par with the feds with both pvp and pve content so there will be a reason to play one. And more ship types is always a good thing. Would be nice to be able choose between ships from the different races that make up the factions instead of just the Fed or Klingon ships. I'd like my Vulcan science captain to fly a Vulcan science ship, and would the Klingons actually turn over control of thier ships to members of lesser species that they conquered, at least until they achieved a certain rank and proved themselves?

ATTN Cryptic: We don't want the Excelsior!
Please pay no attention to the people who say they want the Excelsior, they are engaging in good-natured ribbing! Ha ha we have fun times don't we!

(seriously everybody said we wanted the Galaxy X and look what happened there, do you want the Excelsior to go the same way? I'd die inside. Play it down!)

I didnt vote. Since the OP'er only put thing he/she is interested makes this poll useless.

I want an open PvP sector, just in case a Dev looks.

Klingons wanted PvE long before closed beta. Cryptic stated specifically there was going to be "full PvE" for the Klingon faction in the summer of 2009. And then to appease everything Cryptic stated they'd roll out PvE for Klingons after launch. Then they mentioned the "45-day" content update, which never happened. All of what was earlier promised is now in Season 2 (until that gets delayed or thinned out too).

    Hasnt' happened yet.

That's why all of the Klingon players who want PvE are so POed. And I can't blame them. I'm POed at Cryptic too, even if my complaints are a little more focused in lack of end-game content and skimpy content all throughout.

    Wrong:

    "Two factions, full PvE content"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcAn3nhf97Y#t=01m50s

"From the start"(to quote you), they said that both factions would have full PvE. However, as the game got closer to launch and they realized they wouldnt be able to deliver what they had said, they tried to save face by calling Klingons "PvP oriented". Please, dont spread disinformation.

Yup, his poll is biased. A PvP sector (open PvP or persistent, open PvP) is very high on my list. I'd still rather see a decent end-game content system in place first.

Actually, I dont even want all of the things listed(not a big fan of STFs). However, leaving out the open PvP sector was just a mistake on my part, so I have added it to both polls. I realize that may have changed how some of hte people who have already voted would have voted, but at least since the polls are relatively new it wont prevent the majority of people from having the option. Sorry for the mistake.

Didn't vote. The Poll contained good things, but not the things I want added most:

    1. The Prime Directive (Diplomacy) System

    2. Expanded melee weapon selection. (Feds having to use Bat'leths when NPCs get broader selections annoys me)

Edit: No I don't really expect #2 to make it to any poll. I accept I'm probably in a minority who feel strongly about that. But the first one is big.

LOL ok, the diplomacy system was another obvious choice I should have included, though the melee weapons thing is a little to specific for a poll(you could include hundreds of specific things like that). So what I am going to do is create two new polls with more options, and then post those links in the OP. I'll post again in this thread when their ready so everyone can revote.

I voted for open PVP zones (capturable of course), not because I'm the biggest PVP fan, but because this will produce an endless activity for players to do in between content releases.

It was a tough poll to answer, because almost all of the items have great merit.

An open PvP sector would go along way to solving your need (If done correctly). It would provide years of content for a one time investment which is better than a few new SFO's IMO. I am NOT saying to not add more PvE because most succesfull games utilize both PvP and PvE systems for endgame content.

No hate here they put a "PvP" faction in a game that has a TRIBBLE PvP system. Klingons now dont do what PvE they have.

While I would enjoy those things too, are those really your top two items you want ASAP? Are diplomacy and melee weapon selection is keeping you from logging in to the game? Are they preventing you from enjoyment of the game?

I respect that everyone has their own opinion, but surely these are not game-breaking for you? And if they are, I can only chuckle a bit I guess. Many others have quit STO and are growing ever more restless due to much larger, more widespread, and more critical issues. I too have my own personal desires for STO that are a side-note to the game (ie: UI modding system), but I choose to go on crusades about issues that affect more people than just myself or a small group of people.

No end-game content listed there other than "STF". You added Diplomacy but not end-game content, which is a much more sweeping category. I thought you'd want to make your poll have fewer, wider options to achieve more impact?

Open PvP sector would be a bad choice for Cryptic to set as a priority, for the same reason that 'Klingons as PvP only' didn't work out so well. There simply are far fewer PvP players than PvE players.
They may add it, and probably should, but it won't be first, by a long shot.

Most want new ships (preferably with new weapon choices)
What I believe should be added first is the Player Created content. I think this may add a lot of life into the game as while Cryptic work on 'bigger' things for STO, the MORE than capable community could create some truely great experiences.

We had a decent number at launch! Most of the complaints was lack of open PvP or PvP sectors (it is why this will be my last month). If they implemented one then offered a "welcome back" you would see alot of re-subs. And if the Klingons want PvE then why do Klingons have such a hard time to find groups for the content they have now? Again Im not wanting no PvE for Klingons but they need a war that was promised then add more content.
