I'm a newbie at this game level 4....and keep getting shoeshined in every mission...how do I tell what level a mob is???...before i chuck this game...I tried updating all my weak azzed gear but no luck...
First of all make sure you don't go into areas where you shouldn't be. Stay in the Sirius Sector Block.
Second, when you click on an enemy, at the top of the screen will be an information box about that enemy. In the upper left corner is a number. If it is negative then that is how many levels under you the enemy is. If it is 0 then the enemy is equal level. If it is positive then the enemy is that many levels higher than you.
Third, if you changed your difficulty level I suggest changing it back to Normal for now. If you never changed it then don't worry about it, the default is Normal.

Also, make sure you do your missions from lowest to highest. They're all marked. Try to pick ones closest to your level first.
If you run out of missions your level or lower, then do exploration missions (in Delta Volanis for your range) to level up a bit.
The great part about those missions is that they always scale to exactly your level, and the Exploration points you earn can be used at Starbase to buy really good equipment.

Your welcome. When you get a new mission in a new sector than you know you can go there and be safe.
If you have any other questions feel free to send me a message.

If it is the Defend the Sirius Sector Block mission then yes those are usually best done in groups.
