Someone poasted about being able to target an enemy and a ally at the same time. And there was other things added by other people. But I can't find the thread, so I'll post myversion of the idea here:
ENEMY TARGETING
Primary - Most Powerful, unless all at smae level, in which case random. Can also be selected, but fefaults to most powerful.
Secondary - Just another ship, whichever one comes into the range of any unused weaponry first; alternatively, the weakest ship (e.g. fighter). Not Selectable.
ALLY TARGETING
Automatically selects an ally within range, unless you turn ally auto-targeting off. Also selectable.
As it currently is, you can target multiple targets by alot of camera swinging and tab use. I've done it quite often and while the changes don't stay it does allow for a temporary multiple target aquisistion.
I ahve to agree that something better and stablier would be nice, as the current method makes me dizzy.
