it would be nice, for long term playing, to some playaround things in this game. in this cast i would appreciate macros, that allow for example to have a nice text when using an ability. would be great for those who roleplay a bit, and it would allow a better teamplay if i can tell others, what i will be doing next.
2nd useful point i would like to see is, that macros are able to link 2 or 3 abilities together. eg. Emergency to Aux and Aux to structural. @ the moment the interface is really TRIBBLE as soon as you need to click some things in a row, sometimes abilities dont react and so one uses Aux to structural, but em to aux didnt work ... this should not be excessive so that one macro can contain 20 commands or so, just 2 or three abilities, i'd prefer linking 2, i think this would be enough.
and i wanted to state, that the chatsystem, even after 4 month of playing didn't make it to my brain. i still have typos when using emotes or when trying to wisper to someone. i still not got, how to manually tell in /zone and manually switch to /r, mostly i have to re-right click the person, and so on. its really crappy. perhaps you could number the channels so that /1 is zone, /2 is whatever one joined as second, and so on. and please, make /r not always referring to the last that wispered ME, but the last I wispered TO. taht would help a lot. couse if i picked someone i cant tell him with /r until he answered me ^^ so i have to re-pick him again.
does anyone know if i reach zone channel by typing /zone text ? is that right? sometimes these commands wont work

More macro & scripting leads to a bigger chance of botting. I've seen simple macro & scripting turn an mmo in to a botters and cheater paradise that totally rips a community and game apart. Cryptic please don't allow this is any shape of form as it could lead to the loss of many paying subs.
1) The text bar supports (ctrl c) copy/paste (ctrl v)
2) You have hot keys for different powers use them
okay, thats really a point, but i realised that many of thos botters are in this game yet, they are in DSe-s and just wait for others to complete their missions ^^ and: you dont really need to do anything to beat an enemy, just equip turrets, turn on autofire and , wait ^^ so this argument is very secondary. and i just would like to have some texts to link with abilities. that would be enough for me. i must admitt im from wow, and i relly liked it to say some things when using some abilities. no im not playing a WK spamming lol with a castrandom macro ^^

The ability to macro really has no influence on the ability to "bot" unless you're defining botting as the simple repetition of a sequence of keystrokes (which incidentally you can still easily do with a 3rd party key stroke ap).
An actual bot is going to pass commands directly to the client without even going through the GUI, or in some cases might even bypass the client and insert information directly into the outgoing packets, or direclty into memory.
What macro support would allow is for players to overcome weaknesses in the existing interface or to make it more efficient. Imagine if you could create a macro that tells our entire away team to cast necessary pre combat buffs, drop turrets and mines, etc, all with a couple of key strokes. It's nothing that a bot couldn't do on its own, but it's something that a player could not normal do with just key presses, which means it would improve control of the game and make that aspect less tedious.
right, that was one of my intentions. i really donno how bots work, never used one, but in this game its not neccessary, cause you can kill everything even when afk ^^ so this would be a nice addition, cause the interface is really lacking a lot of functionality. that i have to go to the upper left corner to tell my boffs to target my targets is very uncomfortable, cause the buttons are very small and it end up in some kind of aiming-training ^^

I assume you're talking about ground combat while soloing so your Bridge Officers are fighting and killing enemies on their own with you having to interact with anything. In essence, your Bridge Officers, on the ground, do act a little like Bots, actually.

Look at the game's option, specifically the ground scheme key-binds, and you'll see that there are specific functions like "Attack My Target", that you can assign keys to. Once you've assigned a key to "Attack My Target", for example, pressing that key will make your Bridge Officers target your target and attack it. Explore the game's options to learn more.
Macros are not possible at the moment, but key-binds definitely are, and it is quite possible to assign a line of text and an in-game action to a key. You accomplish this by using the /bind command:
/bind <key> <action>$$<text>
There's a lot more information about the keybinding system on the Internet since both Champions Online and Star Trek Online use the same system.
Also, the /bind command does support multiple <actions> with $$ between them, it just follows a simple rule system:
1. Only 1 <action> can be executed per keypress (note this applies to powers; you can combine an emote or a chat message with an <action>)
2. When you press the key, it goes from left to right, attempting to execute each <action>. If an <action> is unusable (greyed out, on cooldown, etc) it moves onto the next one. Once it hits an <action> it can execute, it does so and stops the rest of the bind.
3. If all <action>s are on cooldown or otherwise unusable, nothing happens
Does anyone know if it is possible to /bind BoFF actions in the ground interface? To me that's the biggest issue. I prefer to run ground missions with say 2 engineers (who I want to drop mines and turrets before I pull) a science officer (who I want to throw out some buffs right as I go to pull) and a tactical officer (who I would like to cast "Draw Fire" on me).
Doing all of this through the default interface means that most of my time in ground missions is spent clicking little buttons in my party interface vs pressing just a couple of key strokes, which IMO ought to be possible, even if it means repeatedly pressing keys to get one action per key press.
In space, everything is handled through a single interface, more or less, so it's easy to control everything with key binds, but not so much on the ground.
Edit: Well if /bind doesn't work at all, then that's a bummer.
Just about any "gaming" keyboard or mouse can be programmed on a hardware level to execute macros whether or not the game allows them. Which is iffy at best, cause devs of games always say "omg thats illegal" yet the product is basically available for anyone to purchase.. *shrug* I use a Razer Naga mmo gaming mouse with 17 programmable buttons.. no I havent written macros though i could, but 17 buttons does help with a ton of keys bound in a game, takes less pressure off your keyboard hand, which I think is a lot to do with people making macros, theres just so many binds in some mmos.. A good gaming mouse and a keyboard shouldnt need a macro to do well though.

I made a single Macro that with one button changed my costume, activated a power, did an emote, and turned on an effect. It was cool!
Did you put /bind or bind? I was using binds last night fine in game, both with a bind file and /bind .
