Who's happy with the speed at which Cryptic is adding content?

Maybe because I'm laid back, enjoy playing alts and various characters/ships that I feel the game is awesome and in the last month is even MORE awesome. Maybe its because most MMORPGs ship with less content then players want but by the end of year 1 there is a lot more content (and people still complain lol), and I realize we're only a couple of months in and already Chapter 2 is going to hit sometime.

I'm satisfied. Sure, it would be nice if they were throwing out content faster, but they're not only adding the leveling kind of content, but they are working on a roleplayers DREAM, ship interiors, additional races, additional ships, etc. etc.

Anyway, anyone else happy and content in STO-land?

    I am.
They are way faster than other MMO's.
I can't wait until they get the Genesis System working to 100 percent though.

I'll be happy once they start the 'new episode every week' plan. And once they add more variety to the exploration missions :o

well, in all honesty, i don't know how they are going to do the "new episode every week" thing.
They won't be able to do it and they shouldn't have said it.

I am quite happy with the rate of content additions Cryptic has been pumping out so far. I agree with many here that there should have been more to begin with, but that is beside the point. They are working hard to expand the universe theyve created, and I'm impressed with that work so far.

And yes, the weekly episode plan = Awesomesauce.

I've said all along that i was disappointed with STO at release. The best thing since then that's changed in my opinion is the communication. Yes the game has improved somewhat and it's obvious the dev's are working hard and doing the best they can., but i still feel they have a long hard road ahead of them.

Quite frankly though, i think their biggest problem at the moment is their marketing department. But that's just my opinion.

Anyway, anyone else happy and content in STO-land?

I have been playing since Open beta and have bene playing the same character since head start. My main has been an RA 5 for nearly 6 weeks, and I still play him every day. I do have a few alts, but none are above LTC (Actually only one is an LTC). I have not grown bored with STO and its content so far.

I'm currently grinding B-Tran missions to complete my set of purple gear (just have ship engine left to go). Then I will grind to get all of the Very Rare Tactical Kits, this should take me about 20 - 25 more days to finish that.

This should take me to mid-late June and it will only be a matter of weeks to wait until Season Two. So, bottom line for me is this....I'm happy with the pace of the new content being released, and I've never really felt that STO had a lack of content to begin with.

I'm very happy at the rate at which Cryptic is adding content. My dissatisfaction stems from the fact that there was not enough content to begin with and so they are playing catch up whilst the players twiddle their thumbs and are charged a pretty penny for it. My other dissatisfaction lies in that the content that they are adding is just more of the same. The content is repetitive and mundane. More of the same just is not enough for me.

Its really not an unrealistic goal at all, assuming they have a decent mission creator interface. In other games where the Devs have developed a public mission creation system(like in COH), a person can create a decent mission with more than one part in a day. Of course, comming up with good story and dialogue, and then testing your missions to make sure it works right takes a little time, but a week should be plenty for someone who is doing it as their job and not just in their spare time like a player would be.

Yes, that is my LTC alt. But, I did not come into STO looking to play a Klingon as a full faction main toon anyway. So for me the content for Klingons, even at launch, was fine by me. However, don't get me wrong, I'm glad Cryptic will be adding more PVE content to the Klingon side of the house as well.

Would it have been better if the Klingons were a full faction at launch? Sure, or course it would have been better...but that is water under the bridge.

I very much agree, if STO had WoW levels of content at launch I think it would take me years to catch up. Actually I'm almost certain of that.

i still feel the game needs more mid level content, and im quite annoyed that it seems to be getting ignored. Right now i had to grind out nine or ten rep eatables to level up to cdr. I've not even touched the end game stuff due to me extreme dislike of grinding...

I think the weekly episodic content has been a little overhyped. My impression of it was that they have story arc missions (say 3 to 5) that they wanted to release in a weekly fashion, so for 3 to 5 weeks, you'll get a new mission every week or thereabouts. I don't think they're going to be producing 20 episodes each week for half a year. I could be wrong in my impresison, but I'm pretty sure I heard the words "story arc" when this was mentioned by dstahl.

That said, I echo others here in that I'm pleased with the pace, but not really interested in a lot of the content produced so far.

Overall? Yes, I'm rather pleased with what's been cranked out in the timeframe.

I share the view that there wasn't enough at the onset, especially (and I cannot stress this enough) on the Klingon side. They should have tried to buy enough time to release the game with two functional factions.

Though, obviously failing that, they've done well for the faction they've got out, and the Klingons are set to start closing the gap in Season 2.

If they deliver? I'll buy more character slots and start up a Klingon. The remaining slot will be reserved for the next faction, assuming I last that long. As much fun as this game is for me, I can't see it holding me more than a year. We'll see.

i think its okay, though i would prefer MORE content in greater packs in less fast periods. not only because i hae to redo my UI every patch, which is very ... annoying

I thought it would be a few more missions, but I definitely thought that it wer "just" missions that they were going to release anyway - but instead of getting them all at once at later time, we get them weekly, starting earlier.

I am happy and content with STO. Cryptic is currently doing a good job, but they can do a great job if they just remove the shield rings asap.

Rather happy that they are fast with it.
But also unhappy that being fast sometimes results in bugs. (looking at you window number 1!)

    Like that fast. :p

Didn't need to read past this post.

I'm less interested in new "linear" content and more interested in getting the Genesis system fully functional, so that we can explore new worlds and whatnot, like in actual Star Trek.

very pleased at the moment. i would like some more story content now, but that is coming, i do like the idea of weekly episodes and that could be a big hit

much of what they have done so far is improving what they have. once they get all the little things like interiors, memory alpha, difficulty slider, episode replay out of the way, then hopefully they can concentrate on more missions and actual mission content, before going to the next faction and then hopefully pvp designated sector blocks

I cant believe that this community would say that....I just love it when they give us new content that is so bugged that you can't even play it...and what about the money we keep pumping out each month while they keep give away free subscriptions to the newbies....Wake up and smell the coffee.

Hope they can keep to that would be nice. Hope to seen some NON Combat mission. Also hope they understand they are plot devices the lead to the mission. Not the mission. Yes a percent of the time nothing happens drop off aid supplies, help planet with plague, deliver a Diplomat but a percent of the time things do go wrong. A good chunk of all Star Trek missions start of as non combat. This were the scan 5 items went wrong in my opinion. A percent of them should had a random chance of a follow up story. Finding a rare plant and needing to beam down to get it, There being a space ship in orbit attacked by pirate and you need to beam the crew off. The ship may or may not need to be boarded. There may or may not be combat. A person would not know for sure what would happen tell he dose the mission. That is Star Trek.

The rush for new content is irrelevant. They need to fix existing bugs in the game that have been ignored for months. Cryptic its time to fix whats broken before we get new content. With every new update there are more new bugs to pile on top of the old ones. This just makes the game more frustrating and unplayable. Its only a matter of time before this rushed style of doing things is going to produce some kind of in game glitch or fatal bug making the game unplayable. I think we should be more worried about game stability. And less worried about new content that just makes it all worse!!

After taking a break and returning recently I was very surprised to see just how much work had been done on the game in such a short period of time, and started over with a new character. I don't think I've ever played another MMO that had such timely responses to issues that the community had voiced. In the beginning I was a bit uncertain about their ability(or any dev team's) to handle the massive task they are facing, but today I can honestly say that Cryptic has not only exceeded what I would have thought possible in such a short time frame, but that I am now very excited about what the future holds in store for STO. If they keep it up I think they will have a contender on their hands yet.

I think people confuse buf fixes and attempts to complete half made features as "content".

They only "new" things are STFs and they are group only which for some people (not myself) are not accessible or really different in any way.

I am not a happy bunny.
